Anyone try the new ESDG Cessna CJ-1 ?

Thanks Bill. I look forward to seeing the FSX screenshots then. I truly hope that you're right and the FSX version does significantly improve upon the texturing and visuals of the FS9 version, but unfortunately I did not find that was the case with the Citation 2.0.

David.

The one where I said it's basically the same model with better Proline simulation...?
Although there was quite a bit of remodeling involved for the FS9 version, there was a lot of new modeling done for the FSX version. To be sure though, the major focus was on the entirely new and revolutionary avionics suite. The UNS-1 FMS is so much more user friendly than any other, it's a real joy to use. In addition, it has some really neat features that no other FMS is capable of performing.

Honestly, there's only so much anyone can do with FS9. Comparing the CJ1+ v2 FS9 version to the FSX J41 or NGX seems just the tiniest bit unfair... Thinking.gif

That's very interesting, Bill! Thanks for setting me straight. I'll be looking for the FSX version when it's available.

Well, I am a long time simmer, started way back in the days or the Tandy 1000 and Commodore 64/128 era ---SubLogic et al... I jumped into the online community in the days of Flight Assignment: ATP and FS95/98. And just to date myself even more I can recall when Eagle Soft was showing off their since canceled old school Challenger 601 Bizjet... I've never seen Bill come across as rude or arrogant. In his first pot, the one you were upset with... all he asked you was to "not assume something that is not accurate"... Unless you are part of the ES design team then he is infact correct.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Zach, don't like me personally? Get over it. Don't like our products? Don't purchase. You've displayed your own arrogance and a pretty sick attitude without any help from us or me. If you don't know what you are talking about, why not be silent on the matter?

I have to agree with Zach here on this one. Ron does come off unhinged allot of the time and above in this thread is one heck of an example. I go way back with ES where in the beginning things were great with me and the gang at ES. When the whole FSX debacle went down (in other words it's release) allot of debates around here was heated. Through all that Ron seems to have had less and less patience with people. I've watched it get progressively worse even times when I needed support. I too believe Ron is a great guy but understand this Zach Ron is EAGLESOFT... He's the CEO, the visionary, and very passionate about his products. ES has filled a nitch that no other developer really wanted to take on and that's private jets. I have to thank Ron for having the vision to give us these great add-ons over the years we wouldn't otherwise have had. But just the same Zach makes a point all of us have noticed...

Hmm, I thought the thread was about our new FS9 Product. Didn't know it was about folks "personal feelings"...Oh well, looks like another episode of personal drama over some childish "like vs dislike" sillynessNerd.gif

Guys this is going to be another one of the southbound eaglesoft threads. We've had more of those than we need. At the end of the day who gets what out of it? Let's stop it and focus on the product please. ES stuff is good. Not much argument there right? Especially if you want a thorough bizjet for FS9. I haven't purchased the CJ1+ yet but I certainly will, maybe after the FADEC patch? Whatever ES makes, chances are it will be the only good simulation of that plane for FS9 (or even FSX) in your lifetime. Feel lucky that you have the option to get it.

HelloWell I have read this whole thread and I still cannot see where Ron was out of order. It seems that every time Ron Hamilton posts on these forums the threads go south very quickly. This is probably the last good business jet released for FS9 and I would not blame Ron if he gave up on releasing addons altogether after reading this thread. If anyone here had worked for three years on a product only to find the first reply to a post asking for opinions on the product was basically full of misinformation along with a dig about the delay to the XLS, and this from a forum user who admits the he knows little about eaglesoft, and has never bought an eaglesoft product.Fair play to Ron , my response would probably been even harsher in his shoes, I thought his reply was quite reasonable really. Way to many thin skins around the forums these days though

Lots of heat but not much light on here. The sad thing is that the original question on the thread still hasn't been answered. Who has purchased it and what is their feedback? Let's forget the name calling - but if there's someone who bothers to read this thread and can actually answer the question from personal use as a customer, it would be nice. A good bizjet is a rare bird indeed and many of us FS9ers are interested to know what actual customers have to say about it.

The FS Community still has a few adults which encourages us to continue on a somewhat limited basis but frankly there are a few in the community who routinely make bashing of commercial devs and their products a sport.I'm not the only commercial developer who has observed the decline in actual aviation interest by users which is quickly being replaced with high school like "popularity contests/food fights".Those mature devs with whom we communicate are quite willing to forgo any further communications here over this type of treatment and have even hinted at dropping some development projects.

This is on my to buy list.I am not that fond of business jets but a small one like thisand decked out like this one is something I have been waiting for some time. cheers JP.
