August 25, 201213 yr Did you set your FSX terrain settings the way the manual recommends? That's pretty crucial for this, a lot of the techniques used in high-end sceneries like this require specific settings. (mesh and texture resolution sliders specifically) No, I didn't set the resolution to the highest setting as that goes against the recommendation of pretty much every other scenery I own. Most recommend 5m. - Aaron
August 25, 201213 yr Commercial Member I don't know why any user would have low mesh settings. It doesn't affect performance. Gaps in texture around taxibridges happen when slewing, or moving around the scenery too quickly. There's an immense amount of detail and the terrain needs time to catch up.
August 25, 201213 yr Planning a flight from KLAX to KPHX with the wife today. In our F1 Mustang, of course.
August 25, 201213 yr I agree with you guys $35 is a great price for this airport. I paid $38.09 after taxes and exchange. It seems silly but that extra $3.09 just seems to take it over the top. No doubt I will get every penny out of this scenery. I love flying flights like KLAX-KLAS-KDFW and so on KLAX-KPHX-KDFW, KLAS-KPHX and all the other variations will be fun. I know that when my wife sees the bill she will say. "What did you spend $40 on!" Mike Keigley

Gaps in texture around taxibridges happen when slewing, or moving around the scenery too quickly. There's an immense amount of detail and the terrain needs time to catch up. For the same reason as your scenery requires a higher level. I set my mesh setting based on add-on developers requirements for their scenery. Usually that is 5m, but with this scenery it is obviously higher. Also, the texture alignment issues aren't related to slewing too fast. I was basically just sitting on the tarmac. At any rate it is definitely a very high quality scenery, don't get me wrong. I will no doubt make a purchase when I can afford it. - Aaron

August 25, 201213 yr I just got this..its pretty good. And it goes very well with Mega Scenery Phoenix. I luv the awesomeness of the runway textures But there is an issue... When coming in to land, I can see the runway lights. (You can see it in tha screenshot as well) .but when I got closer on short final, the lights on the runway went away.. it was just dark runway Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 25, 201213 yr Why does this airport scenery vanish on Instant Reply ? Same thing with FSDT Airports. I think its texture issues/bleeding that the lights disappear when approaching to land. Yes Total texture bleeding..runway and taxiways... whatever was there before..default/Megascenery...just comes up when approaching to land. This needs a fix Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 26, 201213 yr OK.. I took out two BGLs. There is one in FSX\Scenery\0202\scenery\APX18200.bgl. I renamed it as .bak And then there is another one. Fsx\scenery\world\scenery\kphx_ALT.bgl. This is an elevation file for KPHX. I renamed that as well. I am not sure if removal of both is required... but I took out both of them. maybe the elevation bgl alone may have been sufficient. No bleed for now ...atleast during day time.. I see no reason why this wouldn't have fixed the night time bleed through as well. Hopefully.. APX18200.bgl.didn't remove more than KPHX. Until Flightbeam comes up with something better...this is my solution. Now I can see the glorious custom runway textures. For all the airport addon vendors/slackers who can't produce a runway texture worth the salt... watch and learn! LOL :P Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

This needs a fix Is your Mesh Complexity set to 100 and Mesh Resolution set to 1 meter? Anything less than 1 meter on mesh resolution will cause problems I tried lowering it myself and the scenery ground items wont display properly. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 26, 201213 yr I agree the price is inline with other high quality offerings. I can't complain considering as a measure of appreciation I donated $40 for the newest FSX KPHL product by SunSkyJet. Keith Guillory

Anything less than 1 meter on mesh resolution will cause problems I tried lowering it myself and the scenery ground items wont display properly. I had it at 90 and 2 respectively. Hmmm.. you think that was the issue? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 26, 201213 yr Yes Total texture bleeding..runway and taxiways... whatever was there before..default/Megascenery...just comes up when approaching to land. Go to FSDreamTeam's website and download the latest Addon Manager build. This usually fixes that issue. Also, if you are zoomed out too far, the ground textures frequently will disappear.
