December 18, 201213 yr intergration and fmgc simulation, oh lord. its only been out one day and a child without a type rating or even a cpl/ir is quoting its amazing. I wish I could code software. I made a million conning people out of money Offensive and arrogant. Completely out of order. Petraeus
December 18, 201213 yr Multiple by two and add 10%...anyone that can't handle that probably shouldn't be flying a jet anyway! Good point! and it's 45% going the other way. I have to always convert LBS to KG when loading the PMDG JS41 so it's no biggie. Michael R
December 18, 201213 yr I massively want a decent Airbus for FSX. But I can't afford to buy this and then if it's not on par with the FSL effort (don't think it's going to be) buy another. I think I'm going to have to wait until the FSL is released and then decide. But I think I know who the winner is going to be, and it's not going to be Aerosoft...
December 18, 201213 yr Sublime modeling/texturing based on the latest technologies. Very easy on frame-rates. Has anyone confirmed this? This that matters to me the most
December 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member Got my throttle working now and so far based on quick testflight I really like this bird. Fly by wire works and feels really good, way better than with Wilco, graphics are just great, sounds are awesome, I like also those custom views...
December 18, 201213 yr Has anyone confirmed this? This that matters to me the most Perfomance is quite good. If you look at the model and the VC it should be clear that there is an effect on the fps, but on my system it performs a little better than the NGX and comparable to the Wilco/feelthere Airbus Evolution. And that is quite noticeable since the Airbus Extended looks so much better! On an busy airport like EDDM (Aerosoft) with some serious weather, it stays over 20 fps for me (i5, GTX 670, 16 GB RAM)

December 18, 201213 yr I didn't care for the original Airbus X. I thought this one would be different based on all the hype. Someone posted that this Extended was 737 NGX quality. IT IS NOT! It just doesn't feel realistic in the VC! Just my opinion. Anyone who was not a fan of the original I recommend you pass on this. The realism in the graphics is more on par with the Flight1 Pilatus PC-12 than the NGX. I'm not trying to compare products just giving an indication of how I see the graphics and realism.
December 18, 201213 yr Can someone please confirm that (unlike the original Airbus X), the OP CLB and MANAGED CLB modes are properly holding N1 power, and adjusting pitch to maintain the speeds ? The original Airbus X used default VS values like 2500fpm, and fudged the autothrottle to keep 250kts on climb = not at all convincing! ....but I am hoping this has been corrected and it now climbs properly, like the feelthere 'bus ? Cheers!

If you have the Airbus X anyway, you can at least get a flyable aircraft for 16 Euro. I bought the Extended yesterday and wasn't disappointed (Aerosoft has made it clear it's not an advanced add-on like the PMDG NGX). I am a Boeing man myself and haven't a clue on how to fly Airbus, but I got it from ENGM to EDDM on the first try without reading the manual and without any issues. Daniel Nilsson

I agree with this. The VC is very bland and generic looking. Its not that it looks horrible it just doesnt give u that being there feeling like the NGX. Matt Wilson
December 18, 201213 yr Well, so much of the visuals are interpreted subjectively. I wasn't a fan of the original (although I bought it and tried to fly it), and I really like this one. Aerosoft did a great job of improving the original and adding some complementary complexity to its systems. And it looks great to me, particularly the panel lighting. While I need more time in the virtual air with it, so far, it flies very well with zero issues. Some small bugs, yes, having to do mainly with ND flight path depictions and related FMGC matters; a service pack is planned to address those. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
December 18, 201213 yr "Posted by Mathijs Kok (Aerosoft)on 30 November 2012 - 08:31 AM in General AngelSandAirWaves, on 29 November 2012 - 09:11 PM, said: performance is better than the default A321 they said, so no problem there Well with all code that's not something we can say anymore, but it's about 40% to 50% better then the NGX (of course because that has deeper systems)." Can the "40% to 50% better then the NGX" performance be confirmed? I'll wait for Rónán O'Cadhain's (OP) review before I decide if to buy or not, as an real Airbus Captain his opinion is important to me. I very much care for the FBW & flight dynamics to "feel" right :p0504: Kind regardsR.G

The Airbus X was nothing on this, it is definitely the best airbus simulation we've seen so far, I'm enjoying flying it and it is well worth the price paid, the NGX should be as good as it is because its probably one of the most expensive aircraft addons ever, this is extremely good for the price. As for performance my setup gets constant 20-30 fps until at a larger airport when it is 15-20, the NGX is unflyable at the same airports. The only downside to this product is no 2D panels which would of benefited us on lesser systems massively. Lawrence Ashworth
December 18, 201213 yr Can the "40% to 50% better then the NGX" performance be confirmed? I can't confirm this but will say that, having flown my NGX extensively, the Airbus X Extended seems easier on framerate based on no actual measurement but on my purely subjective impressions.
