Airbus X Extended Released

Featured Replies

Would this create a problem?

Airbus Extended like all the other aircrafts has the spinning cursor (which eat about 12FPS) problem IF YOU HAVE a 3 monitor Surround view. So I have to insert a line window_size= 0.333, 0.874 in every window in panel.cfg as well as in VCocpit01...etc

But that alone did not fix the issue.. so I just commented out the following windows and it seems to have fixed the spinning cursor problem. Would this create other issues for me? I don't care for those windows.

The Airbus X was a pretty decent plane, but this Airbus X Extended is absolutely amazing! I find it a lot better than the Wilco Airbus, both graphically and functionality wise! its probably the best Airbus for FSX currently available! I have lots to learn that's for sure. There are also dozen's of liveries already available at launch, which is amazing!!

I have only recently heard about the upcoming FS Labs Airbus, but couldn't care less at the moment about it because it isn't released. I'm sure I will get that one as well later on since it will cover (based on what I heard) pretty much all aspects beyond just day to day flying of an Airbus, but Extended one does it for me at this time!

I also have the NGX 737 but I'm not a huge Boeing fan so I haven't bothered spending much time on that plane.

I wish you could do a you tube tutorial from cold and dark to landing, if you ever have the time, Im still reading the manuals, its is the first time for me in an Airbus, its so weird. lol

I will certainly create a series of videos for the release of the FSL Airbus X to have them perhaps released in the week before the actual release if that's what yee want, and will go through all the steps, give some back ground info, some real world company procedures, display some of the neat features that FSL have developed etc. I’ll try and squeeze in a few different types of approaches and cover all bases. We’ll have to see how I do at explaining these things seeing as I’m a TRI now LOL.

haha, I wanted to do the same, but I just removed the whole sections. Didnt think about comment them out. I also deleted the views in the aircraft.cfg

AMD 7800X3D, 64GB 6000MHz CL30, INNO3D RTX 4080, Windows 11.

Sorry folks, I've been informed I've a 'conflict of interest' and it wouldn't be fair of me to share any negative opinions or things I'd like changed in an SP I may have, it would seem petty I'm afraid.

Oh then... just post under your son's nick here.

please see aerosoft\Airbus X Extended\Documentation\ Vol1-InFSX EN.pdf page 12 : MCDU Webinterface.

As for the views. The views section at the buttom of the aircraft cfg. are for the views which you can select using the bar left up.

I removed the bar by removing the titles in the panel.cfg. And the views in the aircraft.cfg

Everything works perfectly, Ive setup my views via OpusFSX and/or Ezdok. Dont know which I will keep.

Not entirely sure that'd work either... Besides, he's seen the FSL bus so the conflict of interest would kick in again...

Rest assured though, if one thing's for sure there'll be plenty of other thorough reviews out there by the end of next weekend.

Great thank you

I purchased my upgrade at the discounted price due to already being an AirbusX owner. Have only flown it once briefly and it looks great. Will try more this weekend when I do the tutorial properly.

Too bad FS runs like &@($* at Heathrow on my PC. No amount of cool addons will fix that.

LOL... in for a penny, in for a pound eh? (or in this case in for some €30 - in for €17 more...)

Well, the Airbus X is, in my experience, unflyable.. so that's 30 pennies down the drain. Airbus X Extended will give me back some value at least. ^_^

Well after a couple of more flights, I found some other issues.

1. Hard ILS Autoland again (400+FPM) that's 3 for me!!

2. Autobrake prematurely disengaging on touchdown (Probably due to hard landings!)

3. TOD seems way off. Normally at TOD at FL360 is in the area of 120nm from destination. Up to now all the complex models I have PMDG, Level-D Wilco/Feelthere, CS, Flight1 Super 80 all model this, also ATC starts descents around the same area. On this model it calculates only 65nm . I was already down to 16000 when I reached it from ATC assigned descents.

4. Pitch control on autopilot (As has been reported by some here) seems very abrupt.

5. In some situations the automated checklist feature with copilot can really throw you though a loop. When you start engines, if you start Engine 2 first, the copilot will immediately go through after start procedures switching the ignition off shutting down the APU, all before I go to start Engine 1.

I'm off now to report these findings over on the Aerosoft forum!!

Thanks

1. Hard ILS Autoland again (400+FPM) that's 3 for me!!

This seems to be the case with many FSX aircraft. I personally do not like performing autolands if they are simulated as extremely hard, because it takes away from the enjoyment and sense of realism one feels after performing an otherwise smooth flight. However, the real A320 autoland does seem to be quite firm. I have seen a 300 ft/min descent rate on touch down.

PMDG, Level-d are the best in this area, and consistently results in smooth landings. The Wilco A320 which is this models main competitor (So far) touches down on autoland consistently at 200FPM Still harder then it should be, but not as bad. I also get good results from the ERJ, Jets series and Flight1 Super 80. Left alone Captain Sim is about the worst in this area, but a little back pressure can result in a pretty smooth landing, but then that's not really a autoland. Just to be clear except when weather dictates, I normally will bring the plane in manually (at least from 500-1000ft). I'm just checking out the systems right now. As of now with these issues, In my opinion the Wilco A320 holds an edge in the systems department, but that can change if some if not all these issues can be addressed in a SP or 2!

Thanks
