Airbus X Extended Released

Featured Replies

The fuel planner on this is really pessimistic! Gave me over 12,000kg for a two hour flight from EGGP - LEAL. Landed with over 6 tonnes left!

Also the given FLX N1s seem incredibly low, causing long take-off rolls. Is this a common factor with others?

Thats the same old throttle issue I suspect. Try hitting F4 and see if you will get full power. It looks like they have done nothing between the old Airbus and the extended version as far as throttle is concerned. If it worked with the earlier version it should now work,,, if it didn't work with the earlier version I dobut if it would now work.

I can go to TOGA no problem, and the Airbus recognises that I'm in the FLX detent etc, it just seems their calculations of %N1 seem to be very low, as do the V1/Vr/V2 speeds in the included charts.

Hi there guys, I made a simple script to be able to control the Airbus X Extended FADEC / throttle controls with the keyboard. Inside the zip file you will find both the script and the README file that explains how to install it and what it does.

It requires FSUIPC.

Let me know if it works for you.

Hey My Throttle now works.

I did not use the LUA script as I tried earlier. I followed this

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/60206-throttle-issues-and-suggestions-for-fixing-them/

What befuddled me was this. I did not have my FSUIPC settings like this. Once I did this, The throttle in the Airbus started moving and clicks into place for various settings.

The Wico throttle behaves the same way.

I'm not having much luck with autoland (Just testing functionality), I just flew my second flight Boston to Orlando, and again touchdown was hard this time closer to 500fpm. This time at least the FMGC calculated a proper VAPP speed (142kts). That's 3 autolands I've seen exhibiting this. The 2 flights I did and the video I mentioned in my previous post. Has anyone else notice an issue here?

Thanks

Since I'm not an Airbus fan, would this be a good purchase to learn the systems/setup/etc or is there something better I should be looking for. The Joystick scares me.

The joystick is a little weird....kinda crazy watching yourself maintain a 15 bank, and then watch the stick go back center....and stay there, but the plane still banking perfectly at the angle of your choice. I see many, many, many manual SIDS and STARS flown in my future.

I absolutely love this plane.

I´d love to see a review from a systems-functionality point of view rather than eye/ear candy ! Please @Rónán !

Sorry folks, I've been informed I've a 'conflict of interest' and it wouldn't be fair of me to share any negative opinions or things I'd like changed in an SP I may have, it would seem petty I'm afraid.

Apologies to anyone who wanted to wait for my opinion before buying but I'm sure there'll be plenty of reviews out in the coming day's and weeks from more impartial sources that will leave yee fully informed on your purchases.

Congrats to Aerosoft though on a fine release.

OK, I understand your COI !

I remain uncertain which one to buy: Aerosoft's, BBS' or FSLabs'. Any opinions?

Man, there's no comparison! ..... I paid for the BBS and it is just so incomplete and the FMGC/FCU logic is just miles off. Unistalled and now that the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended is so good, I doubt I will track the BBS progress further. It just has that sterile, lifeless PSS feel to it. Sorry.

The Airbus X Extended is absolutely worth every penny IMHO ...... the Checklist system is excellent, it's more than that actually, it's a F/O that flicks switches and does stuff! ..... Like FS2Crew. This is one of the best FS releases ever for me.

It's light and day compared to the original Airbus X which was dire.

If you want a really good A320, this one is the one to go for, at this time.
