December 18, 201213 yr Think I will wait for FSL. Why settle for second place;) Way back before the PMDG NGX was released, there was a similar situation when the iFly 737 was released a few months in advance. I heard great things about the iFly, but also knew that the PMDG was going to be better. I didn't want to wait for the PMDG so I bought the iFly. Until the NGX was released, I was perfectly happy flying the iFly. However once I got the NGX, the iFly was never used, and has since been deleted. So I guess what I am trying to say is, if you have the disposable income or don't mind using the Extended X until the FSL comes out go for it! It's alot of fun to fly for sure!
December 18, 201213 yr Author If it only had the ability to assign keys / buttons to the AP controls / Heading Knob, (FSUIPC Mouse Macros sadly do not work with it), this would be my favourite addon ever released, and would tear me from the NGX! Indeed the ability to set some key assignments would be great... Rónán O Cadhain.

December 18, 201213 yr Indeed the ability to set some key assignments would be great... Have you seen this? http://forum.avsim.n...ule-version-20/ Fantastic news guys! .......... I've just tested and although not all of the LUA parameters from the original Airbus X work, all of the AP parameters do work with the Extended !   (Eg... Parameter 1 for AP ON, Parameter 2 for AP OFF, 24 & 23 got Heading knob etc all work!). Happy days.
December 18, 201213 yr Hi, Could someone fill me in on the built in audio checklist/crew message feature? Is it any good, does it come with different accents? Thanks! Kind regards, Nico
December 18, 201213 yr Hi, Could someone fill me in on the built in audio checklist/crew message feature? Is it any good, does it come with different accents? Thanks! Kind regards, Nico I dont know about others, but I cant get it to work on the ground from first boot up. It works in the air and is pretty cool. There's also an ATC feature where you can listen to what sounds like New Yorks JFK airport. I dont know if its live, probably not!
December 18, 201213 yr I remain uncertain which one to buy: Aerosoft's, BBS' or FSLabs'. Any opinions? -- President, Platinum Airways (the very virtual Open Skies airline)
December 18, 201213 yr I remain uncertain which one to buy: Aerosoft's, BBS' or FSLabs'. Any opinions? I think the question you should ask is, how long are you willing to wait for an Airbus addon, if it's gotta be right now, Aerosoft has the obvious lead, since it's released and FSimLabs hasn't spoken a word for some time, if you want the absolute best and are willing to wait for that, wait for FSimLabs. I don't have access to any of those two, this is just my opinion analyzing what we know so far. Alexis Mefano
December 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member FSimLabs hasn't spoken a word for some time... Five days, to be precise. Andrew Wilson
December 18, 201213 yr Author FSimLabs hasn't spoken a word for some time. They've been releasing snippits of information on systems depth and the progress of the build for a while. Just recently they announced that had started getting the liveries prepared. Regards, Ró. Edit: Beaten to it. Edited December 18, 201213 yr by Rónán O Cadhain Rónán O Cadhain.
December 18, 201213 yr I don't have Facebook so I don't follow these news. I heard a developer talking about Taking Off with FSLabs A320 and asymmetrical thrust developing because he didn't wait for the engines to stabilize first. Very cool, but that's not an update on the progress of this bird, it can take two weeks, it can take more than a year, so I don't consider that. The Liveries prepared is a good update, although we have no idea how the system modeling is going, which is probably what's going to make this bird release soon or not. Alexis Mefano

Are they talking weeks, months, half a year? -- President, Platinum Airways (the very virtual Open Skies airline)
December 18, 201213 yr It may help to look at the Airbus Extended release. It was so close and a single bug then caused a delay of months. So how could we expect to receive even a rough estimation from devs working on such products? FSL once had 'end of 2012' or even 'around November' in use. Plus disclaimers of course. I think it came up around the Aerosoft conference and I remember making jokes about the sheer believe that this date could be anything more than a wild guess. ^_^ I don't think it's a problem to ask for dates. But it could be one to then believe in them. This goes for both sides involved. By this, the answer to your question Are they talking weeks, months, half a year? could well be 'all of the above and then some more'. I would look at it from a different angle. The Aerosoft aiming point may not be the one from FSL. So if the current system detail and philosophy of the Airbus Extended looks like fun for you, go for it. And if a later FSL Airbus comes up and is just the thing you wanted, you get that one too and were able to fly an Airbus for all the months(?) of waiting time. From the fictional tombstone of a flight sim fan. December 18, 201213 yr Scroll down and follow the instruction under this section: LUA scripts for AirbusX throttle Hi Brian. This is what I did this morning. I unassigned all 6 throttle (Mixture and propr as well) within FSX control. I rescanned them within FSUIPC 2) I copied over the two AS_AirbusX_Thr1.lua and AS_AirbusX_Thr2.lua into my FSX Modules folder. 3) Within FSUIPC I then assigned both those to the two throttle axis (Send to FS as normal axis while selecting the LUA AS AirbusX Thr1 and LUA AS AirbusX Thr2 on the left hand side... I did not set anything on the control sent when range entered on the right side ) like the you tube video in that page/link you posted. But IT has no effect on my throttle movement what soever. I did notice something,.,, in FSUIPC page 3 of 11 "Separate throttle per engine" Throttle1 and 2 does not seem to react when I move my throttle 1 and 2. Like it has no throttles. Is that normal when I select the LUAs within the Axis assignment page? Can you tell me if thats how it is for you? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
