My only 'bug' so far is :- N1 values for both TO/GA and Flex values seem too low .... It seems it is not possible to take-off with N1 exceeding 85.5%, which seems a bit low.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this. It's certainly making my takeoff runs longer, and this combined with the pessimistic fuel planner and seemingly low V1/Vr/V2 speeds is making the plane under-perform quite heavily.

The FADEC Computes TOGA N1 or EPR based on a whole bunch of factors, ambient temp being one of the main factors. 85% TOGA seems perfectly normal. I wasn't too impressed with the original Aerosoft A320 however some of the reviews have pushed me to check it out. Going to purchase and write a short review.

Anyone know if the Flare Law is still screwed up? And does the FMA now display the correct modes?

Cheers

Rob Prest

Yes you get a discount if you bought the original .

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

Well sorry chaps, but I'm, very disappointed with this add-on!

The VC is VERY low quality and that's despite my high res monitor. In this day and age, with the degree to which VC's have improved, I was not expecting that.

The VC head momovement is a pain as well. I went to a lot of trouble to disable that feature in FSX, now to find it's implemented annoyingly in this product.

The colouring of the VC is also very unrealistic.

Nothing like the quality I would have expected for a modern add-on.

Pretty much wasted my money.

When someone in this thread said it had the panel quality of the ancient Flight1 PC-12 I thought they were exagerating... they weren't!

Do Aerosoft have a refund policy?

If anyone has solutions or comments, I'm open to suggestions. Did I miss anything?

Virtual cockpit looks just fine in my opinion... Though I do often fly a lot of ancient F1 props and I'm happy with them too.

VC is rubbish to me. Lettering blurry, low quality indeed.

All of the other add-ons I own are superior in this respect. And it's not down to cost. The Quality Wings Avro is not very expensive, but the VC is excellent.

I'm really angry that I've wasted my money. I should have learnt not to listen to other simmers with lower standards.

I have a strange feeling that users who don't like the VC, haven't flown other Airbuses in a while. This VC is way ahead of others (currently available ones).

How do people feel about the FBW system?

I have watched quite a few Airbus cockpit videos and wondered why the pilots keeps fiddleling with the stick during final approach. I noticed that I was doing the same thing. A flick to the left, center stick, a flick to the right, center stick. Looks and feels like too much of input, but the plane only makes small adjustments.

Feels great to set a 20 degree bank, center the stick and enjoy while she holds her bank and pitch.

Also nice to have extra buttons available on my joystick as elevator trim isn't needed :)

Hi Guys

Re the throttle issue that many (including me) have had, I've now got another problem....

After sorting the original A320 throttle issue with help from Aerosoft forums, the same issue still exists with the A321. Locked throttles.

Any ideas?

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

VC looks fine to me too. It's sharp, no blurries. It looks dull but that's just how a real one looks like. :)

FBW feels good to me, I also have the same experience flicking the stick a little on approach, feels good to me, like I expect. Of course, never flown a real one.

Liking this one so far!

Ahhh Right. Chances are that you did not configure your displays right and that happens. Low quality? Well seems like this statement is always true, There will always be the 5% of the 100% that dislike the addon.

May be way ahead of other Airbus offerings, in which case they lack quality too, in fact the quality must be dire. I was prepared for the typical Airbus blandness, I'm an Airbus fan. But not a lack of the VC quality I'm now used to.

All my other add-ons are fine... hence, my display is configured correctly.

Glad you chaps are happy with this add-on, but for me, in my subjective opinion, it' doesn't meet the standards I have come to expect.

I've read more posts about the F/O doing 'everything' and I was wondering if the F/O really does EVERYTHING...? When you use those checklist, doest that automatically mean everything is done for you...?

I had planned to buy this addon the day it was released but I didn't have the time to do so and now I have to say I am a bit in doubt because of the many (little) bugs... Wrong entries in the MCDU (fuel, weight, altitudes, speeds (everything?!?)), problems with lines on the ND, wrong TOD, no end of descent on the PFD, too hard autolands, problems with throttle... it feels that if I buy the plane now and learn to fly it I will have to relearn a lot of things after SP1... Yes, I know most people are quite happy with the plane but I noticed during the last months that I am getting tired of beta-testing payware. ^_^

Then again, there are nice new interesting things, like that F/O and the sounds and all...

The F/O doesn't quite do everything, but it does a lot. It's perhaps best described as "FS2Crew Lite". Some people have claimed the system is bugged and does things at the wrong time, but honestly if you follow the checklists correctly, I have found it absolutely spot on. The only small issue I have found with the F/O / Checklist system is that when I manually set my transponder squawk number, the F/O would not accept it; they were waiting on it still being set despite it being on the correct code. The 'fix' was to let FSX set the transponder, via FSX ATC, then the F/O was happy with the code and we moved on! .......

Without wanting to offend or condescend anyone, there is a lot of human and operational error going on with this plane, and thus the subsequent 'bug claims' ...... it does have a couple of bugs (eg.. a few posts above the N1 is definitely not right at TO/GA but there are nowhere near as many bugs as are being claimed by some people, who to be honest just have not read the manual and/or do not have knowledge yet of the Airbus approach and philosopy to systems.

Nice. How to win friends and influence people

The real Airbus cockpits are functional and not at all aesthetic, and the Extended reproduces that quite accurately .... but as a VC it is exceptional in my view .......... but according to you I just have low standards

Not sure what you mean by that. I'm just offering my subjective opinion. If your subjective opinion differs, then I'm fine with that. Although obviously, as you would expect, I am disappointed that I've lost money.

You are misquoting me there. I didn't say "low" standards I said "lower" standards. Logic would dictate, that if the quality is acceptable to you, and not to me, then your standards must be lower than mine. Mine could of course be at an unrealistically high level, and yours at a realistic level. If so then so be it.

In addition, I have no issue with the VC being functional, or lacking is aesthetic appeal. Not my issue.

Fair points, no probs.

It's just that there's nothing blurry at all in the VC as I am seeing it (and a few up the page) so I am wondering if something has gone awry with your installation or settings. As we all know, the A3XX cockpits are very sterile and unaesthetic but I am just very surprised that you find it that bad.

It's not at NGX level but it's a heck of a lot better than a lot of VCs.

But as you rightly say, each to your own, and no-one likes losing money, but maybe give it a bit more of a chance and you might grow to love that ugly Airbus pit!
