December 20, 201213 yr Would be nice to have a A319 and A318. With different engine options and that steep approach stuff on the A318. Well, one can dream, right? They did add the A320-NEO with the Shark winglets Can you check if they are using different cfg files for the sharklet and non-sharklet model? Would be a nice detail too.

December 20, 201213 yr I can confirm that they are using a different airfile for the Neo. From what Aerosoft said, the modeled it from the specs of the demonstrator Airbus wasn't as forthcoming with any specs for the actual NEO since it was still on the drawing boards. December 20, 201213 yr In regards to the autoland, I can't tell you the last time I used autoland in any sim-aircraft however, I flew back from Aruba on JetBlue which was a A320. The landing was quite good but I couldn't help but ask if they used autoland or manual. The captain looked at me and said "was it that bad?" A flight attendant next to him said "oh you would know if it's an autoland, it's very unforgiving." The FO going on to say that AL really plants the a/c on the runway. So a -400 fpm AL might not be that far off.
December 20, 201213 yr Is the vertical deviation symbol (VDEV magenta doughnut) along the ALT scale modelled? Edit: found my answer it's not modelled.....well to bad....maybe in SP1? Kind regardsR.G
December 20, 201213 yr What is the quickest way to disconnect Auto land/AP? Lets say I am on auto land at 400 agl I was to disconnect and land myself.. I want the aircraft without any auto thrust...I want total contol.. What do I need to do? In Boeing, I have a big handle on the MCP to disconnect.. Do I have to click on both the AP button that is small and in a shaky environemnt, its not great to do that ...that low to the ground. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
December 20, 201213 yr Is the vertical deviation symbol (VDEV magenta doughnut) along the ALT scale modelled? Not on release, but may be included in a service pack. Manny Technically, since we aren't in the Aerosoft forums, this isn't support, so take it as advice. Besides having hotkeys, right-clicking both the AP1, AP2, and ATHR and moving the thrust levers out of the CLB detent will be the fastest way to do it. You would want to do that before your DA/DH though. Regards,Kyle

Manny I don't think youre supposed to use the big handle on the MCP to disable the autopilot. The big handle is for emergency autopilot disconnect AFAIK. On Boeing they push a button on the yoke to disable the autopilot. I imagine that they do the same thing on an Airbus, except that they do it on the sidestick of course. In any case, I just pressed the button I had mapped to autopilot disconnect on my stick when I landed the AXE, just like I would on my Boeing planes. vatsim s3

December 20, 201213 yr As far as the sim is concerned you can just hit the Z key!!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
December 20, 201213 yr I really don't know why anyone is complaining, it's the best Airbus simulation we've ever seen so far and as someone who's trained on the 320 it's a lot of fun, particularly in the circuit with some weather! I think it's a great product. Well you got a point there. I just bit the bullet and bought it. Wont get to try it till tomorrow though since I'm getting 18KB/sec download on my 8mb DSL  Anyway I figure use this till the FSL one comes out, and get back up to speed on Airbus. Its been quite a few years for myself (since PSS) and its like starting out as a noob again. Who knows this might even inspire me to get the FDS A320 panels out from under the bed and actually throw the home pit together finally  Chris Chris Strobel KSNA
December 20, 201213 yr At the end of the day everyone is wholly entitled to their opinion and view on this 'bus. It just seems weird that most people are not seeing mega blurry VCs and CDUs, so I wonder if there is an issue on some systems. You're misquoting again! Nobody said it was "mega" blurry! Just not of the quality we have come to expect from virtual cockpits. Look at the white lettering on the panel, not sharp. The VC quality in general is nothing like the QW Avro for example. It's late 2012, not 5 years ago. And once again, there is no issue with our systems, all of my add-ons are top-notch in this respect. Once again, I would say those of us not happy, exepect more from our add-ons than you do. Neither of us are right, and neither wrong, it's subjective. And yes, I AM fussy, it's my nature. You have to understand that I was a reluctant VC user. I was a fan of pin sharp 2D panels. It was the NGX that finally converted me to the VC. Couple that with the quality of Carenado cockpits, and the first rate QW Avro, and I was fully converted. This product, doesn't match up in my opinion, and when I add into the equation other design choices that don't appeal it fails to be a keeper. Happy bus flying to those satisfied with this product.

It's easily the best out there compared to anything else and definitely a lot of fun. The FSL will be good no doubt but after it being in production for so long, the release date could still be a long wait yet for all we know. For anyone who bought the Airbus X, the discount makes it very attractive indeed. Lawrence Ashworth
December 20, 201213 yr I agree that the VC quality has to be improved. The Airbus X looked better on my system. Plus, the performance could be much better. I'm down to 10% AI. LOL MSFS
December 20, 201213 yr What key did you assign to a button? Z? Manny As far as the sim is concerned you can just hit the Z key!!! Incorrect. The default 'Z' key does not work in this sim. It will screw up the plane. If you look in the Aircraft.cfg the FSX autopilot is not even activated in this aircraft - it uses a full custom coded LVar based AP. To set the AP with the mouse, it's left click, and to turn off the AP it is a right mouse click. But far better than that - just download the LUA script for the original Airbus X from the Aerosoft website, convert it from Txt to Lua file type, and put it in the Flight Simulator X / Modules folder. Then, in FSUIPC (registered version), you can select the "Lua AS_Airbus_X" command, and assign any and all of the Extended's AP commands to keys or hardware, using the "parameter numbers" in the LUA file. (It's not as complicated as it sounds) I have the following commands working beautifully on the Extended :- AP ON assigned to 'X' key AP OFF assigned to 'Z' key Heading Knob Decrease assigned to '[' key Heading Knob Increase assigned to ']' key Heading Push (Managed) assigned to 'N' key Heading Pull (Selected) assigned to 'H' key Speed Knob Decrease assigned to '<' key Speed Knob Increase assigned to '>' key Altitude Knob Push (Managed/Climb) assigned to 'V' key Altitude Knob Pull (Selected/Open Climb) assigned to 'U' key etc, etc, Obviously some of the above keys are assigned to FSX default commands so I have deleted these where required, as the above are my preferred keys that I use in most aircraft. Works a treat.
