As some have said before, if you really need to fly an Airbus right now and can't deal with Wilco then go for it.

For myself, I know that FSL produces a quality that is unmatched by Aerosoft. The FSL 'bus will undoubtedly be more polished and on the same level as PMDG's products.

 

Nothing of top quality comes quickly in the flight sim world. If you've got the patience, wait out FSL.

So you're advice is "if you can't wait for FSL..." (which I can appreciate), "...and can't handle Wilco" .......... "get this".

 

You're therefore suggesting that the Extended is lower down the preference list than the Wilco feelThere Airbus ??

 

Sorry but do you actually own the Extended.......... because I cannot believe for one moment that you would advise people that the Wilco is a preferable option to the Extended. I actually flew the feelThere Airbus a lot (more than the NGX believe it or not as I'm an Airbus fan) until this release, and liked it (despite the ugly VC), as it was the most functional A3XX available .

 

........... but although the original Airbus X was a pig (and something I binned after it's first flight in 2010), the Extended is far, far superior to the feelThere Airbus Series now.

 

I think people are offering 'advice' about this product who have not even bought or experienced it!

Well sorry chaps, but I'm, very disappointed with this add-on!

 

The VC is VERY low quality and that's despite my high res monitor. In this day and age, with the degree to which VC's have improved, I was not expecting that.

 

The VC head momovement is a pain as well. I went to a lot of trouble to disable that feature in FSX, now to find it's implemented annoyingly in this product.

 

The colouring of the VC is also very unrealistic.

 

Nothing like the quality I would have expected for a modern add-on.

 

Pretty much wasted my money.

 

When someone in this thread said it had the panel quality of the ancient Flight1 PC-12 I thought they were exagerating... they weren't!

 

Do Aerosoft have a refund policy?

 

If anyone has solutions or comments, I'm open to suggestions. Did I miss anything?

 

 

This is what I said a few days ago. I'm glad there are others who feel the same way. Compared to the most recent high-end addons, ie DC-9, BAE 146, etc. this is very poor quality visually. Also, everyone mentions there is no good Airbus out there....try the Simcheck A300!!! This Extended X is very dissapointing after the hype and long release date wait. The CDU is so blurry that I have to strain to read it. This looks like a rehash of the Previous X and looks 3-4 years dated.

At the end of the day everyone is wholly entitled to their opinion and view on this 'bus.

 

It just seems weird that most people are not seeing mega blurry VCs and CDUs, so I wonder if there is an issue on some systems.

 

I know I am coming across as a a really excited user regarding this product, but please bear in mind that (i) I absolutely hated the original Airbus X and while buying the Extended was thinking to myself "what are you DOING!" :lol: ... and (ii) I just feel that those like me who love Airbus aircraft but dismiss this offering because it's form Aerosoft, or because of past experiences with the original Airbus X will really miss out.

You do know that you're in NAV mode and that you have not successfully captured the LOC or GS in those screenshots?

A picture speaks a 1000 words. What a silly argument..its like arguing if color Blue is better than color Red.

Can somebody do the Bruce Dickinson FBW Test to this plane and let me know how it handles the situation?

Basically, Configure for Landing, Let it descend on a virtual Glide Slope about 800fpm a minute, then simulate, or in FS you actually go towards a mountain, and as soon as GPWS starts yelling, Stick Full Back, don't touch the Thrust levers, and see what happens. The real FBW will not let the Airbus stall at any moment, Alpha Floor will engage and TOGA Thrust will happen automatically, you just have to keep the Stick Full Back and you will get out of this situation.

Ive done this countless time with the NGX, look at first picture it was on AP it should have turned not gone on that big curve and look at the last picture LOC was captured but way to late. Sorry its wrong and it's not hard to see.

The NGX just turns onto final at that way-point in the first picture and you know the rest.

I could have done a DIRECT to get lined up but I should not have to, should I?

Well I haven't done a test exactly like in that video, but yes FBW on this bird seems to work really good, at least I haven't managed to get it stall by pulling stick fully back with no power set, Alpha floor seems to work very well.

Hard to filter through the comments here sometimes. Two people say they have an excessively blurry VC and it is not up to standards, yet every screenshot I've seen, from every user willing to do so, looks razor sharp. Perhaps those with a problem with a blurry VC can post an example? Also, have you posted in the support forum to see if there is a problem creating this blurry VC that others are not seeing? Surely you are at least giving the support personnel a chance to rectify things before making a damning post here for all to consume.

I'm not saying there aren't issues as I'm not an owner just yet, but at least the complaints should be supported in some fashion that makes sense. I have read some well crafted support topics in their forums that specifically outline details that need addressing, and they have supplied supporting details, like screenshots, etc. The general "the VC is cartoonish" and then claiming that the A300 is so much better when its VC is practically the definition of cartoonish, is really rendering the opinion tough to swallow.

About the A300, yeah, that's the reason why i never bought it - The cockpit is a cartoon :(

aaron. I concur.

 

This is a complex addon and some issues are expected and they at Aerosoft have been more than graceful and willing to fix these issues. At one point, I wanted them to release it ..even if its not 100% there, yet hoping they would fix it via a patch instead of trying to get it 100% right and not releasing the product.

 

NyxxUK's issue seems to be real and they are looking into it.. This kind of stuff is to be expected. Aerosoft is venturing into high end complex airliners and they have done a remarkable job IMO.

 

This is not the same as the previous Airbux X which was not very good. If you already own the previous version, then I see no reason why you should not get this one for the additional 16Euro or so.

 

I am excited by this Airbus and I like what I see...if there are issues..we notify them with enough details (not whining) to help them help us fix it and move on.

I have made a new Lua script for controlling the Rudder and a modification to my original script for controlling the throttle (FADEC) using either your keyboard or your Gamepad/Joystick buttons!

Please follow the instructions in the "INSTRUCTIONS.pdf" file included in the zip, as it explains how to configure both keyboard and Gamepad/Joystick buttons in FSUIPC for Rudder and FADEC control.

There are two scripts, one for FADEC control and the other for Rudder control.

 

The PDF file explains how to install it and what it does.

 

It requires FSUIPC.

No, I never said that. Read what I wrote. I said "deal with Wilco." In the English language, having to "deal with" something usually means it's negative.
