I uninstalled the program, however I just did a restore and did not uninstall the lights (not sure what the proper procedure is as this is not documented). I find the documentation severely lacking and confusing. Some questions need to be addressed in the manual. 1. Proper uninstall method 2. Suggested steps of install with those who are running GEX/UTX. (a vast majority of us are) Do I need to apply the hot fix after the installation, does the "I am a GEX user" only backup my files and which areas does it cover? 3. Explanation of what exactly "Poles" remove (all poles etc...) 4. Autogen option is confusing. Does it remove all autogen and if so only at night? Do I need to reenable for daytime flight. What does this statement mean "Third scenery continue with autogen". 5. I assume with 1.3 (have not installed) that when I click exit, my settings will be installed as I do not see an install button. The interface has changed from 1.2, please release a change log and update documentation. I am sure there are more, but just some basic outlines would be nice. I believe the developer is trying hard to address issues, however in his haste to release and adress problems he has neglected in communicating. He really needs to stop and invest the time to properly document his product in terms of what it does and how the changes and installation interacts with fsx and possibly recommended settings. +1
April 11, 201313 yr I've installed and uninstalled version 1.3 3 times. Each time I don't get a backup option, it keeps telling me restore even though I installed the program fresh. I lost all my autogen in the daytime even though I unchecked the autogen light, and my highway lights aren't showing up. I've uninstalled for the final time and I'm not installing it again. Doesn't work as advertised, incomplete and confusing documentation. I'm waiting for ftx global. AJ Pongress
April 11, 201313 yr Commercial Member Works just great for me. No issues, working as expected, looks great on my system. Using their default settings. Using 1.2. I d/l 1.3 but looks like they just worked more on the interface so I am happy with 1.2. Only wish they would add some sort of annotator where a user could create their own lights to work on top of photoreal scenery. But for the areas they did customize (Las Vegas with Megascenery), it's gives a nice little push into the immersion factor. This is probably the worst thing i purchased for FSX. And my guess is that many run UTX with addon scenery, its just so annoying getting to work. In fact, i never really got it working how it should be. i9 RTX 4090 64gb ram
April 28, 201313 yr If you have UTX, then you probably should consider disabling UTX lighting. I think that ExperienceX can be a great add-on if you just have GEX installed with some add-on quality airports. Lighting performance is adjustable and the developer is working on patches for some photo sceneries. BUT, if you have add-on like UTX, ORBX, and photo sceneries, this add-on will not be a smart investment. It will not work properly. MSFS
April 28, 201313 yr Commercial Member I switched to DX10 mode 2 days ago, and Experience X doesn't work at all, no lights, no poles. Shame, because I think in DX10 mode this addon would work a lot better than in DX9.Anyone tried it in DX10? Anyone tried it in DX10? It works brilliantly for me, i wouldn't be without it. I use DX10 exclusively together with GEX and UTX. Just goes to show, all our systems are set up and work differently.
April 28, 201313 yr Commercial Member I think it is not about the systems, it is all about in what state is your FSX installation. Combination of dozens addons, texture packs, bgl files, and so on will sooner or later result in some awkward fail of one of these addons, in my case Experience X in DX10. September 3, 201312 yr Has anyone had any luck getting v2.0 to work with GEX NA and UTX USA? I just purchased this yesterday as a holdover until I can justify the purchase of FTX Global and can't get it to work at all. I also have not heard back from the developer. My disappointment is growing as it was promised that this product is compatible with GEX and UTX and I bought it in confidence that it was. I've followed the shabby instructions as best I could but not surprisingly they were of little help as they don't document using GEX NA at all... Hoping maybe someone else can give me some insight since I am coming up empty everywhere else. I wish I had found this post before I bought it, I may have steered clear.
November 14, 201312 yr Hello all, Can anyone advise weather to get Experience X night lights, or FTX global??I am debating on spending $99 for night lights vs $15... Thanks!
November 14, 201312 yr I have both and FTX Global is my preference. Well worth the Xtra cash. i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.
November 14, 201312 yr I own both but have removed the ExperienceX as it does the same. FTX global is much more than just lights and a very nice product. On the other hand it will not work in DX10 mode unless you get Steves DX10 fixer as well, so that is an additional cost. Experience X looks good and is a bit more realistic as it shows light poles as well instead of just floating orbs of light. If you fly VFR low and slow it looks better, tubeliners, well you are going fast and high and can't see them anyways. Also I think I remember why some people have a problem with this program: If you used bjotes tweaks or any of that it may make it so that the lights won't show. The reason is that it adds a line into your FSX.cfg in the [scenery] section "smallpartrejectradius=3" that number tells FSX not to show anything smaller than 3 pixels. If memory serves right this can cause problems. delete it or comment it out and see what happens. Steve McNitt
December 3, 201312 yr Is Expirience compatible with Prepar v2? I am thinking of buying it to use it with photosceneries next to FTX Global. Frank
December 3, 201312 yr why would you want that? that's an old product from last year and if I'm honest, it's not looking impressive at all. Ftx lights seem far superior.
December 3, 201312 yr I was using Experience X up until I bought FTX Global. Now it's redundant, the FTX-G lights are so nice.
