Is it me or is Avsim sloooooow, it's not my browsers as I can access other website in the blink of an eye....any page I click on take for ever to get to it....

Extremely slooooooow.. takes 5-10 seconds to load each page,, "waiting for avsim" I don't know what they did but before the upgrade it was fast loading now it is bordering on frustrating. I hope they can look into this and see if there is something they can do.

It was slow for me too,but today it seems to be okay but still slower that most sites I think.....John

 

I got a dozen or more of those "This is embarassing pages" but not sure if that had anything to do with Avsim, might have been Foxfore...John

I can only log on via Tapatalk. With a PC, it's not possible to log on with either a screen name or email address.

I also find it very slow loading any page. Just to go from this post back to the topics page takes 20 seconds.

Yeah, it's pretty slow and often my posts never make it.  A quick view of page source would seem to indicate JavaScript ... I'm not a big fan of Java anything myself but that's probably not the problem ... most likely backend hardware.  For example REX Forum uses the same common forum software and it runs reasonably quickly.

 

So it's most likely the demand of the AVSIM users has exceed the capacity of the hardware serving the pages.  Solvable problem, but the economics might dictate we all live with it or donate more money

It was fine before the recent software update and its not the first time this has happened after an update.

There are currently only 806 users on the site, there have been many more than this before without issue.

I'm glad you brought this up because I was thinking it was just me, and like you I had no problems accessing other websites instantly.
