Hanging out while the DL progresses.  Pretty much snowed in here in CO this morning, so a great day to be treated with this release.  Can't wait to fly this one at airports I've gotten to fly in to IRL.

Download server speed is good this morning, BTW!  Almost done already.

Scott

Time to fire up that C185 with tundra tires and go exploring!

"Sandy"

Alaska...meh

I'd say time to fire up the skis and check out some glaciers! :-)

Whether you're that interested in the state, this scenery delivers better river and mudflat and shore textures, not to mention glacier, than probably any region so far, and is worth it for that alone for the sheer realism of the flying experience for me. And with so much shoreline....!

Yeah there's lots of it that doesn't have any civilization to speak of, but there's LOTS of it. It's got some of everything and is bush pilots country, that's for sure.

Dang.... I haven't bought an "Orby" in ages but these guys do know the Pacific Northwest.  Looks like they had some of their best designers in their hangar on this one.  Skagway and Whitehorse bring back many a happy memory.

In the early 70's when I was just a teenie-bopper, a friend come over to the house to see If I wanted to go to the beach.  Living in SoCal I thought he meant one of the local beaches.  "Sure", I said... "where?". "How about the Bering Sea?".  Next thing I knew I was on a 2500 mile journey North to Anchorage, via a 1970 Toyota Corolla!  Back then the 1300 mile Alaskan Highway was all dirt.  Man what an adventure for a 15 year old buck.

Yea...  think I'm gonna have to pick this one up.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Won't get to fly for just a bit, but fired it up for the first time at a few places I've flown to - Dease Lake, Whitehorse and Watson Lake - just to look.  Oh, MAN is this going to be fun!

Amazing to go to these "default" airports and see people working on airplanes, flags flapping in the breeze and all of that.

+ Skagway and Valdez are just right.

IRL, From its cities to the smallest town and the wilderness, the whole state is magnificent.

Nowadays I’m a bush pilot so I consider this one a must and it almost completes all the PNW.

Cheers.

This is good news, because I hope this frees up some staff so they can start Northern California in earnest.

This pretty much cured me of the romance of flying in Alaska.  But nice scenery...

ok ORBX great - now lets release Global !!

Anybody found the google earth kml file they usually release with a new scenery product? I can't, and would like to see it before I decide. I've got most of their stuff, but am unsure about this one.

Here: ORBX NA SAK or KMZ

If you have UTX Alaska and buy ORBX SAK, make sure you visit the ORBX Compatibility Forum (There are 100+ airports that need fixing/tweaking, but they made a batch file)

Cheers.
