September 6, 201312 yr Just to change the subject a little , I really enjoy flying planes where if you do things wrong or as it wears out you can cause failures engine fires etc Ie have to actually keep an eye on temperatures etc Can anyone recommend the a2a spit or mustang for this ? Also if anyone has both which do you prefer ? Cheers and keep smiling all Both are excellent simulations of engine management, as long as you get the Accu-Sim expansion for whichever you end up getting. The question is only what you are wanting to fly; a British fighter or an American fighter with a British engine? You also have the option of the getting the civilian P-51 that has modern avionics and a GPS (this is my personal favorite to fly between them both, though I use both routinely). September 6, 201312 yr Thanks for your input. Hmmmm what a dilemma would only buy with the Accusim add on as already have cots and the quality is excellent. Civilian sounds good but attracted at the moment by the thought of a classic warbird. Heart says Spitfire being a Brit but as the Mustang came out later wondered if it was better simulated. Want the Cessna but may be best to wait on that for all the teething problems to be ironed out. 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
September 6, 201312 yr I'm attaching a checklist from my flight school for the 172Rs they have. They are rated at 180hp. Pitch + Power = Performance
September 6, 201312 yr Not too worried collect cessna planes like baseball cards and its a2a c-172 flies well for most part couple minor issuses but they can be worked out. Only fly single engine low and slow planes and use dead reckoning and basic ruler and paper flight plans. Complex aircraft and procedures remind me of office work no thanks. Rudder, yoke, trim good music good to go. FSX is eyecandy compared fs 4.0
September 6, 201312 yr Hey guys, I got my first disappearing clickspot thing today. So after a few circuits I switched over to the Mustang for some low and fast flying through woodland Oregon. However I found on takeoff my rudder, even though it was moving both in the cockpit and on the exterior model, wasn't effective at all, which in the Mustang is fatal lol. Is this an related event? It wouldn't seem so but anythings possible.

September 6, 201312 yr I really like this C172, but it does seem to me it need a lot of revs to get it to start moving on the ground. Once it's going it's alright. Anyway I'm enjoying it.
September 6, 201312 yr Scott over @ A2A has been a fantastic developer in the FSX community for a very long time. Have faith guys. Maybe the release was premature, maybe not. Either way, I know those guys over there will get these issues figured out. Scott KGPI
September 6, 201312 yr I really like this C172, but it does seem to me it need a lot of revs to get it to start moving on the ground. Once it's going it's alright. It's a bug, cycle the parking brakes and don't touch the toe brakes again and she rolls like it supposed to. It's a workaround until they fix this bug.. On sloped grass strips, you will get stuck unless you cycle the parking brakes.... Very annoying, but atleast you will get out of the "mud" by doing this...
September 7, 201312 yr Make sure you download and install the core update 1.5.2 v.1.5.2 released 9/02/2013 This core update is complete, and includes ALL prior core updates. For the Accu-Sim Spitfire, P-40, and P-51's ONLY. Do you have any information otherwise, Molleh - as I couldn't find any? September 7, 201312 yr Commercial Member This was a response to Wendall post about missing rudder. Yes, you have to install core update if you installed C172 and own Spit, P40 or P51. You don't have to install core update if you don't have those planes but only C772. Michael A2A Simulations

September 8, 201312 yr Hmmm...had an interesting problem today, used the spoilers by accident (pretty sure the C172 doesn't have spoilers) and the A2A C172 jumped up about 20 feet in the air and landed on it's nose and fell back. Anyone else have this experience?
