Featured Replies

If who ever brought the franchise used Origin i would not buy as Origin is one of the worse things that can be installed on your pc imo

I'm almost sure that it s Facebook for Oculus Rift, they work together with FS so it could be logical.

Interesting development; whoever purchase the franchise must have plans for some aspect of the codes. Whether it’s the continual development or a new sim; only time will tell,

Until then; I’m enjoying all the rumors and speculation, which some could be great news.

Totally different? Same s***, different EULA...

Really,

Have you ever used a submarine in FSX, or seen any cloud shadows ?

Different codebase now, different DX version, totally different Simconect implementation and it's getting better with every release.

On frames per second alone it leaves FSX in the dust

MadDog....Please be careful with your post here. One could conclude that you have been entertained by some aspect of P3D!!!

No, he's right. ESP is identical to FSX. Prepar3D is the evolution of the ESP code, which is what you're talking about.

Really,

Really? Cloud shadows aside, it looks quite a lot like FSX to me and from what I've seen P3D users still have to make do with 30 fps. When P3D can run at a stable 60 fps with the same visual fidelity and PMDG class planes, then it will be a "game-changer".

Subs? I'd rather load up Silent Hunter...

?? Just the opposite on my system, even if I turn off all the eye candy (shadows, volumetric fog, hdr, traffic). Having said that, I agree they are not the same, but IMO they still have far more in common that different. If I could only own one it would still be FSX with DX10 by a long shot, mainly because of the poor performance and stutters I get in P3D.

Anyway hopefully whatever is in the pipeline proves to be good news for us simmers.  Only time will tell!

But the thing is I get much better frames on P3D than FSX under DX9 or DX10 and that is why I use it, unless you have seen it on your system (which you obviously have not) your opinion does not really count.

I've used Origin for the past year or two now and never really had a problem with it?

My God I am sure glad I am NOT a developer

Talk about demanding, and fussy.
