July 18, 201411 yr This is an option but that will not give you all the details within an ORBX region. So you are missing out a bit. And it costs fps. Has all been discussed quite extensively on the ORBX forum and here. So there is a value to FTX Central. Even though it is definitely not very user friendly... To be quite honest, I've been flying in and out of regions with hybrid ticked since FTXG release, and for the life of me cannot tell the difference visually or with fps. I would love to see some comparison shots of hybrid ticked, and not. The differences has to be be very minor and virtually unnoticable. Also, how is FTX Central "not very user friendly". It's about as user friendly as it gets. lol... July 18, 201411 yr Hoi Bert, Carlito really couldn't have explained anymore clearly. So read his post again. Have you actually read mine ? ( particularly the red parts ? ) Jan
July 18, 201411 yr Yes I have Jan, but I still don't know what you mean exactly... Maybe it's to hot for my brain to work properly, so please enlighten me. All I'm reading in the red part is you shouldn't select FTX Global when flying inside a region. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
July 18, 201411 yr No, rather than spend the money on LC-EU, I suggest you save the money and spend it instead on the PMDG. Again, IMHO. The difference between FTX Global and FTX Global + LC-EU is minimal and likely to disappoint those expecting more dramatic improvements. As for bicycles and fish, well, I'll leave that one alone.

I would love to see some comparison shots of hybrid ticked, and not. The differences has to be be very minor and virtually unnoticable. Having Hybrid ticked means that you'll see some errors like fields going up mountains and some custom autogen placed in the wrong areas. According to John Venema, many of these errors have been squished since Hybrid was first introduced and the visual differences are really minor.

So have you actually bought LC_EU? are you speaking from actual experience of using the product? My point about bicycles and fish relates to the fact that this thread is about a scenery add-on and your suggestion is to spend money on a plane. If the thread was "what can I spend my money on" then your comment would make more sense Brian Thomas MSFS2020/24, Intel i9-14900K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Panther OC 16GB GDDR6X, MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI (LGA 1700) DDR5, Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB (2X32GB) DDR5 5600MHz, BenQ PD3205U 32” UHD monitor, Win 11 Pro 64-bit,

Well I would run because this is the best 25 euros I ever spent for Flightsim and the differences are huge and I have now a stunning Europe. André
July 18, 201411 yr So much negatism from some guys that do not even argue logically. GEX and UTX are way too outdated. FTX GLOBAL and OpenLC plus Vector and any mesh product are the way to go. Look at the screenshots over the orbx forum and see the truth without bias. Then compare them with GEX + UTX. Ouch! And openLC EU does not cost 40 bucks. It costs 37 dollars. At least all those haters of ORBX (Nick Needham is that you?) don't misinform the other members of the community. FTX Global is textures and autogen only, openLC is landclass and much much more (and far from other lc products such as XClass or SceneryTech, that's why it's more expensive). Without openLC you don't have the whole package. And yes FTX Global is required beacuse as mentioned above it's a DIFFERENT product than openLC. That's the way it is. So all those that have invensted in the past building their sim around GEX and UTX (maybe for the whole world) quit bi tching about ORBX and stop being jealous of an overall better product. If you don't want to buy it (because you have already paid a lot investing in other competitive products), then just don't do it. Is that you John...? July 18, 201411 yr Just took off out of Avalon, France...and oh my....but is FSX drop dead gorgeous, in the beautiful country of France. This product...makes it..... I have all my UTX LandClass features turned off...and anybody that has UTX Europe, and also now, Europe OpenLC....you NEED TO DO THIS! No repetition of Global land tiles...it looks so darn real....wonderful! Forest land class calls...are awesome! Go to your UTX Europe Set Up program...and deactivate all your Land Class. You no longer need them, when flying in Europe. All other UTX features work just find alongside Europe OpenLC. Well..back to the flight...flying to Paris.... "Life...is good!"

Thanks for your feedback, great to hear you're enjoying the new setup of your using openLC! Also interesting to hear how you've decided to keep UTX having it run along side of openLC but with the LC stuff in UTX disabled. I'm still on the fence wondering if the improvement over what I already got (UTX and Scenery Tech) is worth the cost but I already put both FTX Vector and this new openLC in my shopping bag over at The FlightSim Store so guess I will eventually hit that 'Check out' button  Would be great to hear (and see) more reports/screenshots from people who already went from UTX and/or Scenery Tech to FTX Vector and/or openLC and what your impressions are.
July 18, 201411 yr Look, Brian, I said in my opinion. Yes, I purchased the product and yes, I'm disappointed because it doesn't quite deliver what was promised. Yes, it adds nice textures, but those different textures don't improve the look of the landclass at all. I have all three FTX products (Global, Vector and now LC-EU) and I'm disappointed. My comment was aimed at those on the fence about spending the money to buy LC-EU. In my opinion, it's not worth the investment. If you're happy with it, then great, I'm happy for you.
