Sounds encouraging. Waiting to see if this lowers stability, encourages stutters, or pinches processing power from other things like scenery. If not then well spotted that man.

Looks like a great find but important to have more info from Lockheed what it exactly does...

Remarkable... a terrific discovery!  By my calculations I'm getting a ~35% improvement in FPS in the T7, and I was already very pleased with its performance on my rig.  Went from 32.2 to 42.6 in a default start-up situation I always use for bench marking.  Amazing!

Update:  My frames on the 737 NGX went from 27.9 to 37.9, a ~35% FPS gain there as well.  Looking forward to finding out exactly what this cfg is doing.

Exactly...what's that saying???  Oh yeah, "There's no such thing as a free lunch".  Gotta be paying for it somewhere.

Does it increase stutters?

It doesn't seem to generate any bad side effects. I'm getting anywhere from 5-7 FPS improvement. This is the second tweak for P3d that actually does something useful for me, the other being FFTF=0.01. Now I don't need to buy a new PC.

Has anybody figured out exactly what OP=1 does? The only thing that I can see is that the child CPU threads seem to have a higher usage. The main thread is still somewhere between 90-100% for me. GPU use is about the same.

Wow, just took off from FSDT JFK in the PMDG 777 at 30fps...amazing!

Doesn't appear to be any stutters.

Very nice find! I'll have to check this out but after the first F1 race 2015 : )

Maybe the sim has some extra (unused) headroom after the optimisations done by the LM team. It came to my attention that the sim's clock also stays perfectly on time now. In FSX it would always fall behind.

greetz,

Gerrit

Do you guys get the same FPS in FSX as in P3D with the PMDG stuff?

Jay did you miss this I posted

Don’t quote me on this as its just a guess but LM introduced their own affinity masking technology and its probably that which is being applied

PMDG stuff runs much better in P3D than it did in FSX - at least the T777 - that's the reason I dumped FSX and actually the hobby itself if it wasn't for P3D

Rich,

I saw that, but I couldn't find anything from LM about it on their official message board, only speculation.

Jay

EDIT: I was thinking a bit more about this and maybe LM is taking advantage of NUMA to optimize the use of memory by each logical processor. I'm not about to explain NUMA here, because it may not be what's going on, but it's easy to look up articles about it and Intel CPUs.

Same here its the only thing that I could find that sounded like it held water

Can't wait to get home from work and try this, any extra FPS is welcome. Well done for discovering this.
