Brighter terrain, darker cloud shadows - DONE!

Download dropbox link and follow instructions but back up your files from the ShaderHSL folder in P3D.

The mod is good but you also need to make an edit to General.fx (see page 2 or 3 of this thread, and then apply shadow rec for buildings & veg (i have all shadows rec on) and that way it'll appear properly at dusk/ dawn and night.

The new package will be on its way, which will include an installer and functionality to configure the effects via a user interface rather than via dabbling within system files. I am looking very forward to this and appreciate Pe11e's work to put the upcoming package together.

Thanks to all on this thread for these free information. Can't wait for the auto-installer, so I just update the two .fx files as mentionned, delete my shader and... fly

This isn't the best composed shot, but it shows clouds, sun, shade, haze, scattering, and reflection all in one.  (West of Martinique)

Any chance that someone could do a side-by-side comparison of the visual effects? That would be amazing!

Looking forward to the next updates and appreciative of Pe11e's work!

Just a little post to say thanks !

Downloaded and had a try yesterday, looks real good and promising.

Adds a ton of contrast previously missing, and what a beautiful haze

I am very grateful for this thread and the work...

Is it possible to single out the tweaks for the blue haze?

I used the files in the pack, but it's way too dark for me (e.g. the photoreal ground at airports becomes al most pitch black and the terminals are barely visible when I turn on simobjects receive shadows), so I would like to start with the original files and gradually take it from there.

Also, it would make things a lot easier if the first post was updated with findings from the posts that came afterwards. I am not too lazy to browse though them all, but I easily get confused.  :P

Looks great for m.

I had to make a few adjustments as well. I ended up not using the GPUTerrain.fx because I was getting shimmering cloud textures. I did end up tweaking the file to use only the finalSunColor (line 1013, shed further light on the illuminated areas). Used the cloud_alternate and the HDR from the realism shader pack. WOW - does it look great, especially dusk & dawn.

thank you

when ever i replace Cloud.fx & GPUTerrain.fx

i get no terrain at all just a sky blue world
