Interest for an update on the B55 and/or C310 ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Just happened to be perusing the support forum over at MilViz and noticed a fairly recent post where Colin mentioned the "possibility" of considering updates for the B55 and C310...

"We're potentially going to revamp the 310 and the B55 up to today's standards."

Just to be clear - this doesn't appear to be a commitment - but I was wondering if I'm the only one enthusiastic about this prospect ???

The C310 is hands down the BEST light twin out there in my book and a joy to fly... An update would be more than welcome as it's the only light twin I fly... The B55 is almost as good - but - I'm convinced it has a bit of an issue with the FDE that I've mentioned before which prevents me from flying it...

Anyway - just wanted to voice my enthusiastic support for this...

It's also nice to hear the Beaver appears to be on short final - they just opened a support forum for it over at MilViz... Been a while since we've had a true GA plane from them...

Regards,

Scott

I will be all over this one

I would also be interested, although not sure what they could do to improve them?

I suppose four months since the Bobcat could be considered "a while" (sic)... Just%20Kidding.gif

Hi Bill,

Ooops

Sorry - LOL - I did forget about that one - probably because I'd never even heard of a Bobcat before MilViz released info on it... Apologies...

Scott

I would also welcome an "updated" version of their 310R even though I enjoy their current version of this twin.

Absolutely, the 310 is one of the top twins available.  I would buy an update for it for sure.  I am really looking forward to the MU-2 as well, I hope it is still on track.

Yes please...

310 great aircraft..

The B-55 is pretty nice. I'm not sure what they are considering for an update unless it is to make it compatible with 64 bit.

Cockpit vibrations as in the Bobcat. Excellent enhancement to the immersion factor of flying a small piston aircraft. And the cockpit textures of the Cessna 310 could be improved. The B55 already looks great.

Hi Folks,

Yeah - cockpit vibrations sound great...

My punch list would be:

B55

  • As I've mentioned before - the FDE both "B" and "E" models - you can't fly at published approach speeds without the nose of the plane unrealistically pitching up... If you fly the correct approach speed with the correct sight picture - the plane is unrealistically descending at greater than 2500 FPM...
  • The glass needed some improvement - too transparent - there was a freeware mod somewhere that greatly improved the glass...
  • For painters - the left and right side of the nose are not mapped the same - you have to work REALLY REALLY hard to get symmetrical lines on both sides... My hats off to you Ron...
  • I'd love to see that Century autopilot activated for something different to fly with...
  • While MilViz graciously included the "E" model as an extra - the model itself is missing the required air scoops on the engine nacelles that the "E" model has...
  • F1 GNS Support for those so inclined...
  • Single GTN installs with Weather Radar...
  • Cockpit vibrations...

C310

  • Some upgraded VC textures would be nice...
  • One thing I've always wondered about is what's with that ghosted shadow of a button on the KAP-140 autopilot ???
  • Single GTN installs with Weather Radar...
  • F1 GNS Support for those so inclined...
  • Cockpit vibrations...

Scott
