New MS Flight Sim shown at E3 - Updated Information

Eh. You can do world-class program design, and if your customer's graphics drivers are borked, it's not gonna work until your customer fixes the problem.

I'm taking about more than just GPU drivers.

I know you know this - Go look at the P3D forum on any given day.

It's incredible the amount of BS people are putting up with to try to tame stutters, make colors look better, textures look right, weather be acceptable, not program crash mid-flight over the ocean, on and on and on.

ALL of that is a non-starter for this new Sim in my eyes, especially if trying to broaden the appeal.

We've come along fairly well with this topic but when you start including analysis of another member and their motivations, you've crossed the line.

Please bring this back on topic. I would sincerely hate to see this get locked as I think a lot of good is being shared here.

Thank you.

I absolutely do get where you're coming from, but the procedure you were replying to involved getting rid of your graphics drivers and replacing them with better-working ones. That specific issue isn't something that MS can do anything about -- at least, not on the FS2020 side. Now, maybe we could hogtie some of the Windows devs and beat them until they get a clue and ask them very nicely to make Windows more capable of automatically fetching the correct driver.

A few pages back I even expressed the hope that there would be some sort of centralized update procedure so that every addon would automatically update itself (with permission, of course) without having to spend half a day crawling 25 different websites to discover and download updates.

I honestly don't understand why some of you are so stuck in the past.

Fear of change can be a powerful thing.  I'm sure some people who have a financial interest in the status quo feel negatively about the coming FS2020, but some people who have lots of money invested in the current sims are likely just mad about having to start over again.  Certainly many people will stay with their current sim and totally snub FS2020 for that reason alone.

Personally I'm ready and willing to completely start anew, as long as the positives outweigh the negatives.  And from what we've seen and read so far the positives look absolutely outstanding.

+10 on that!

Indeed I would like to see other posts removed also as one can clearly see their motivations and moderation applied evenly and fairly, not just for the 'good 'ol boys' club.

Avsim's credibility and reputation depends on it.

Just about 675 posts on this "non-existent" Simulation.  Have you guys had enough?  Now everyone wants to tattle on each other because your feelings are being hurt.  Cool down or the lock is coming😡

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱

I'm surprised you didn't see many of the flaws in the MS FS2020 trailer video (I've pointed out several, why is the background blurred when the hangar doors open with focus on the DA aircraft ... most likely post processing and/or sequenced render?) ...

I do not understand why you insist to mention the depth of field effect. It was allready mentioned multiple times that each and every single modern graphics engine (on PC at least, don´t use Macs anymore) has this effect built in. It´s a computationally very cheap 2d post effect that practically every AAA Game today uses ad nauseum, just like Bloom, lensflares etc. This stuff is a nonissue in modern engines...

Is that the bar to be able to discuss it?

You simply said "non-existent" - That's untrue.

It's rumoured that there will be a sunrise tomorrow morning, and that the sun will rise in the sky.

I don't know if this is true.

Because ...

Has anybody seen tomorrow's sun up yet?

Has it shown up on their Computer?

How much does it cost? Does anybody have a receipt?  And can you produce it?

So many questions ...

So much to doubt ...

I feel this thread is going rapidly South now. Is it really required anyone to provide a written confession of faith into a new sim based on a 2 min trailer?

I am out here and I'm sure the crying majority will be glad to have one dissenter less.

why aren't any msfs developers spend some extra time during breaks to come here and give us some information or screenshots every couple of hours ? I mean if I was a developer working on this project I would love to share my work
