Now that the wait for acceptance email is over, has anybody got access to the alpha build yet?

Should have started yesterday

This information would fall under NDA

As they day went by, it occured to me that while I wanted to be accepted, it would also be no huge loss if I was not. I find as time goes by that I have gotten more and more patient, so a few months or a year would not really have bothered me.

Who came up with the 32gb memory requirement? Ms, or is it an assumption from someone?

I think it's an assumption, based on the overwhelming number of people who were accepted having machines with 32GB of RAM

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Good luck testers, I'm sure it will be nearly impossible to keep this sim under wraps but you must do it! For the greater good! I'm sure that a lot of us will have a kick at an alpha down the road and I'm looking forward to it. GLHF!

So testers are you having fun ? :(

I believe they all called in sick today. Hahaha

I did not get in😰😪

16G RAM and..... I use a bit of Virtual memory as my totals get to 19G under 4K monitor with P3D and ORBX scenery and detailed airports

Time to get more RAM

Well, I must admit I am a bit bummed. I have been involved with flight sims for over 30 years and have used every version of Flight Simulator since its inception. To be left out of this alpha testing phase is more than disappointing.

Perhaps the next phase...

Ken

I can neither confirm or deny if I have (or have not) been invited to participate as an alpha tester (or not) since I may (or may not) be under (or over) a NDA.

PLEASE DEFINITELY STOP THE "32GB RAM for getting in" NONSENSE !!!

Don't you think they especially want middle range PCs which will be the overwhelming majority of their customer base ? What is the point of testing exclusively on HIGH END system. Non sense.

16gb here and accepted. Mid range 3 year old PC. Mid range GPU card. The whole config is as average as you can get. LOW INTERNET CONNECTION, THAT ALSO MY FRIEND IS AN INTEREST FOR TESTING.

You see, this is about covering the whole spectrum of configurations, low to high, internet connection, low to high, thus you may find that this is about pure random picking in every segment of the spectrum.

One has to reflect a bit, you cannot deduct that because every Avsim user who claim to "be in" has 32gb or more, that you need 32Gb to be in. This is tunnelisation, not math, because Avsim user base is overpopulated by geeks who appends to have high end rigs. So you run in circles. Do you see the point, THE BIG PICTURE ?

So : LUCK. Randomize() on every segment;

Did anyone get accepted who runs Windows 7? (I know Win 10 is required, I would upgrade my OS if I got alpha/beta invite)

@tarere Why didn't you post this earlier ?

I just ordered 64GB of RAM to be sure to be on the next Tech Alpha phase 😥

😜

EDIT :

Oh, JOINED August 24, 2013, post count 1 ...  Errr   hello all ... I guess.

Nice to be here with ya all ^^

I don't think anyone said that you need 32GB to get in, but it is obvious that the first batch of testers was selected mostly based on that requirement. So far you are the second reported case of getting into the alpha with less than 32GB RAM, so it doesn't appear to be just luck.

They will probably open up to more users with the second alpha, when they have done more optimisation. Though it appears that 32GB will be the recommended amount in the end, so upgrading would probably not go to waste.

Don't know about anybody else, but I'm spending the whole day on conference calls.

So yeah, fun.  Loads and loads of fun.
