Seems fair I am curious as to how long a real world plane stay seen after arriving at the gate and how long it is shown at the gate prior to departure. Thinking of KATL with how many gates they have not to mention those planes in the sky around the airport. On that thought what prevents an AI from popping in on top of you at the gate? i9-13900K O/C | ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero | 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kingston FURY | RTX 4090 24GB | 2x SSD M.2 (2TB Samsung 990 PRO) 1x SSD (4TB Samsung 870 EVO) | Windows 11 Home | H20: HydroLux PRO:HardLine Tubing| 1000w PSU | Starlink WiFi
March 27, 20206 yr 50 player aircraft within 200 km is good enough considering AI planes will be buzzing about as well 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

From a previous episode, I think the one about airports, I remember they mentioned that every aircraft parked was an AI aircraft. An AI aircraft that would eventually fly again, no static aircraft. Hopefully they don't count against the 50, that would be a problem. I say that knowing this is light years ahead of what we currently have.
March 27, 20206 yr Considering that a late war B-17 Flying Fortress combat box was spread out in a formation covering 750 feet vertically, 650 feet from front to rear and 1,170 feet in width, and that was for 27 aircraft in pretty close formation, I suspect the capability to allow 50 player controlled aeroplanes is more than enough to cover most actual scenarios likely to occur in multiplayer events. March 27, 20206 yr They have their smart development strategies that should be published in a book for development teams We can see clearly that at least another volumetric tree type is added to to the landscape. Maybe more. I love the User Interfaces of MSFS. I work for a living on UIs, not for simulators (unfortunately) but glad to see a great job being done on this aspect of this iconic version of MSFS... And the goose screenshot is epic. Now I wonder if in another episode we will see virtual hunters down below trying to harvest these geese 😋 Edited March 27, 20206 yr by Claviateur ________________________________LEBOR SIMULATIONSScenery for Flight Simulators since 1998
March 27, 20206 yr OK, I'm curious. Is that goose flyable or is it AI only? 😄 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 27, 20206 yr Love the new volumetric tree type indeed...what a great sim they are forging! Edited March 27, 20206 yr by adino

Of course, it isn't the same as 50 players in a shooter but still. Maybe I'm expecting too much here, though with their whole Azure cloud technology you would expect to see more capabilities from it. Weren't you in the screenshot with about twenty planes in it? (Remember, he is in the Alpha) Imagine that there are hundreds of players in the LA area. Yes, 50 does seem like it could get overloaded quickly. One or two large groups could add up to 50, and then does it show just two groups, or the ones that aren't in a group? What about a fly in event, or the group live events. And we know 50 is the max because of bandwidth. So I assume many users will see less than 50. How much bandwidth do 50 planes use, I assume a lot since it is set as the max. Although 50 is decent, I do have some questions and concerns about why the max is 50 and not higher. My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night. He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler. He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant. As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine. Stay safe out there. (Updated 4/6)

I do believe that while you’re in a group you can’t see any other players, expect for the ones in your own group. You remembered well because I was indeed in one of those screenshots (and a similar group flight screenshot of mine was used for Wing Wednesday) 😁 Former MSFS Alpha Tester, current member of the MSFS Stream Team.

Not sure how IVAO and VATSIM fit into this picture. Maybe you guys can clue me in to what you mean? I fly solely on VATSIM and would hope to have something similar with the new sim - meaning live ATC and some "control" over those flying in that "world." AI stuff is okay, but I prefer real live stuff.
