LM did not give beta testers opportunity to review  the release version and testers had also voiced objection to LM considering the number of issues in previous versions of the beta.    LM obviously had internal release timeframes they needed to meet for whatever reason.  This is not a beta tester issue

If that is correct, and I have no reason to doubt it, then it might be over optimistic to think this hotfix is going to make v5 come up to expectations.

Have you ever been a beta tester?  Beta testers don’t get to make the call on what gets fixed before a release.

Yes I have been a beta tester over the years so I hear ya.

I should mention the release issues are not bothering me as I am confident they will be addressed in short order and, when you buy on release date, you takes your chances with software.

Carry on, bro.

I wonder what would happen if stores around the globe sold a "new" product. Then customers found out that that product didn't work as advertised when they got the product home. Not had a glitch but straight up didn't work.  Then when going back to the store and being face to face with an employee were told the manufacturer was working on a "fix" in a week or so.

Pretty easy to say "we are working on it" when you don't have to look the customer in the eye.

Its crazy to see them work this fast but I am sure devs were a little ticked that things were broken. Hopefully we see some addons the first full week of May start to come out.

FlyTampa has updated scenery packages and they are really good!

KTPA and Princess Juliana have never looked better

Honestly... V5 is a clear improvement over 4.5 and if I had to return one of them, it would be 4.5.   And if you were to read the referenced post above, you will see that I am not alone in this assessment..

Terrible analogy for this situation, as v5 works just fine, has issues like any other piece of software. Did you also know, all those "new" products you buy are sometimes faulty or have a higher failure rate than expected. That's why they have an RMA department, you have returns, that's why they bring out updated iterations and versions of the same product, plus they use all the knowledge for their next product. It's the cycle of everything, nothing is perfect.

Me too.. that is one area that I cannot fly in.. starting at KPAE and heading south..

With downtown Seattle in sight, my system falls apart..

All the naysayers will fall into the distant memory I predict.  Once the bugs are killed we've got a really good sim to look forward to guys.

I found that S43 is a special problem too. From now will I'll fly in other areas until HF is out. Interestingly, ORBX TE GB South London area works pretty well.

Most areas in the world are fine, the Orbx California Regions are better in V5 than in 4.5.. just KSEA for me..

I uninstalled mine and put in for a refund. Just too old to go through all this hot fix, update, reinstalling all over again. I rather spend that time studying my high fidelity PMDG and Leonardo aircraft then struggling with building a new platform. My version 4.5 is at an advanced state of development thanks to many developers, looks great and performs fine.

I just could never go back to that cartoon 4.5 after the gloriousness of P3D5. This version to me looks as real as it gets except for FS2020. It definitely has some issues for now that will need to be addressed but when all the sliders are maxed on a capable system it is amazingly beautiful and gives a fantastic frame rate compared to 4.5 at equivalent settings. To me all the other versions of P3D just seemed like FSX with a slick coat of paint on it. This one feels like a whole new sim to me from a graphical standpoint.  I can't wait to see where this goes and without having to wait years for devs to make addons like what will most likely happen with FS2020. P3D5 with orbx and A2A is as real as it gets right now.

I agree Bert and every software release has always last minutes to fix... Hence they are people 😉 I for one will leave 4.5 as soon as FSLABS is in the virtual blok...

I imagine what a fun it will be to have sloped runways from Flightbeam or Flytampa 🙂

I have kept V5 on my system as I, like many others have seen the improvement it will eventually be.

My V4.5 is nice too, but I know V5 will be better still. I wish LM well for the fix and do sincerely hope it addresses some of the major show stoppers, although I have not seen the wall yet.
