I don't trust them. They are probably working on their next release. It's how they have always done things. Carenado is not qualified to be a respected dev and seller of quality aircraft for MSFS 2020. This sim is getting updates every other week and they will not be able to keep up.

If this was A2A an update would have been issued in a couple of days.

Carenado is just not known for providing this type of customer service and the way that they have handled the Mooney release will be indicative of how they will handle the rest of their new releases. I'm staying far away from this developer. I ain't buying anything else with their brand on it.

@DJJose- that is exactly their current reputation status and result.

I was hoping the new simulator, and their unassailed (as of now) lead in in it- would encourage them to want to be taken seriously.  If we at least received some communication of their update development, and assurance they were on it, I would be mollified.  At the moment they have been their usual reticent selves... and this does not bode well for improving their status from eye candy developer to serious developer.

I keep hoping one of our missives will bear fruit.  Direct reports to their support ticket system have not.

Looking forward to what you find next mate!

Hoping for the best, but sadly expecting the worst.

Can't rationalize in my mind how a company so poised to dominate a market won't go the extra yard to push their business from what we know Carenado is to what they could be.  Not wasting anymore brain power on it.  😞

Part of me firmly believes is that they see, through our actions, is that despite the current state of their business model, we buy their software anyway, complain about this very thing, then go and buy the next release without haste. 😉

Food for thought.

(Don't worry...so far, for decades, any crusades started to try and actually change this outcome have sputtered out almost as quickly as they started....we can't seem to help ourselves)  🙂

Thanks for that Frank... I do not frequent any social media (other than here and at PMDG) so I appreciate the head's up! Perhaps one of their improvements will be a customer support forum, even here... or at least some communication at AvSim... it is one of the significant FS sites.

We are at the mercy of the MS store.

Part of the reason why we always bought newer releases is because we always had Bert or someone else step up and improve a Carenado model.

The GNS 530 mod and now some liveries enhance the aircraft, but we are still at the mercy of Carenado to fix what the latest patch broke.

What if in two weeks the plane breaks some more? They have to catch up, keep up, and stop making excuses.

I've already made my decision for their next release.

I agree...this is @Bert Pieke's fault!

Me too...buying it the second it releases.

(anyone failing to see the humor and good-natured ribbing in my replies knows nothing of this epic struggle between an aloof vendor and passionate niche of customers.  Except for my dig at Bert.....it is his fault I bought the PC-12 for P3D, along with the CJ 😉 ...he has GOT to be on some secret payroll at Carenado! 🙏) (Prayer emoji for hoping he is on their payroll, as much of his time he's given to us for free... to feed our addiction)

This is the true consequence of MS releasing this sim 6 months to a year early and is what is very likely to result in it failing.

3DP developers do a bunch of work to test and release aircraft.

Microsobo makes changes to base things inside the sim/SDK that break the aircraft, every two weeks.  This isn't a once-a-year or once-every-other-year upgrade to a new SDK revision, where developers can plan ahead and migrate their items beforehand.  They are reaching down into things every two weeks.

This breaks the 3DP aircraft, which were sold on the official 'Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace', which means that users have every legitimate expectation that they will continue to work for new updates to the sim.

Now the 3DP developers have a bunch of angry customers, and they have to spend time every two weeks to deal with all these customer service complaints and fix things.

Add to that that the time for MS to release updates to 3DP content can be 2-3 weeks.  So by the time they approve your update to fix whatever the broke, there may be a NEW update to the sim that breaks more things!

And then we wonder why the big name aircraft developers are saying it's a year or so before they will have products....

Yeah. Let's get their twin on release. It should be perfect for about a week.

We can then park the Mooney until sometime next year when they finally update it.

By then, MSFS should be updated a few more times, and neither airplane will be fixed.

We can then buy their next release which will most likely be the PC12.

Sounds, like a plan. 😀

It would be great if it was after market add for "tear and wear", hot starts and etc like Reality Expansion for XP11 for some Carenado product

I don't think quality devs want to touch this sim until it matures.

MSFS

What we need is a mod that positions a camera in space in the MSFS world based on the location and attitude of an X-Plane instance, captures the camera view, and replaces the exterior camera view of X-Plane with that.

I maybe late to this party, but since the hotfix update the clickspot to remove the yoke's isn't working?  When I hover over the control column the pointer changes to a hand, but left clicking does nada?

Yep, and multiple other buttons don't work. It's been like that since the patch for me. Hotfix didn't do anything.

Apparantly they're working on a fix.
