1.12.13 stuttering

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Post the latest download I am now getting pretty bad stuttering. No such issues prior to this most recent update.

Wondered if this is a common issue or all mine have tried C-172, CJ4 and Longitude so far

@RobJC

i have the same system as them only the graphics card is a gtx1080.
I also have the same problem, after the last update the stuttering is extreme.
It's a mystery to me like this screenshot simulator on the Xbox
should run. Did they put alien technology in there?
Even currently overpriced systems come for 4000 or 6000 €
to their performance limit.
After each update, some are left behind.

My stutters are definitely not graphics related, I think it has to do with the streaming of the scenery... turning off the cache helped a little.

I’ve got 50-60 FPS with a 3090 and a 9900ks at 5ghz all at 3840x1600. On ultra.  Yet objects are still popping in, terrain is still morphing, and panning left or right fast with the mouse or with track ir causes the sim to micro stutter.

I believe the stuttering has gotten worse, the worst areas are the Photogrammetry areas, a lot of it depends what elevation you fly. It seems to be less optimized than last version though, who knows why.

I had some serious stutters and pauses yesterday in the LAX area, not had before, but this might be scenery related.

Worse for me to.  According to the built in benchmarks, every so often I am suddenly "Main Thread Limited" for just a moment and have a deep red bar for the main thread.  I've no idea what the main thread is doing at that time, wish we had the tools to look into that level of detail because if I could find the party responsible I'd be glad to disable it.  The rest of the time my main thread is green with plenty of room to spare.

Yes I've just noticed some bad stuttering flying the current A320 landing challenge. Every few seconds during the approach is a stutter of about half a second which kills the immersion.

I found it's not so bad on the first attempt but if you then reload it and try again after completion without exiting/relaunching the sim then the stutters are really bad.
