SU 5 Stutters

Unless you're going to be violently moving your head around, then I dont think you have anything to worry about as far as trackir goes

That’s what I was hoping. I look forward to testing it myself, some time on Friday if current download speeds / accessibility is anything to go by.

I thought Asia servers would be a bit quieter…

No. Track IR users are mostly fine since I hope you don't snap your neck around. Those who will have more issues are those who do snap view changes.

It's not great on my end.  Forward ahead with default cockpit view....yes definitely a lot smoother and higher fps.  Looking left and right (say when on downwind approaching base....  not good).  Stutters might be reduced if you have higher end hardware.  My CPU is long in the tooth for sure but it's no slouch (4790K 4.4GHz), neither is my GTX 1080 Ti.  I'm only running 1080P res.

I've also disabled motion blur of course....I hate that setting haha....pukin' rally!

No one is whining here...this is a widespread observation at this point.

Now what's annoying and whiney is your constant gatekeeping and trying to dictate how others should interpret the observation, along with your consecutive triple and double posting

Just saying...🤔

Yes they are whining. If you and the others fly the plane the correct way, these issues are non factor

Can you please test over a rural area with lots of trees??

Here's a random area in the sim with trees. Sorry for the background noise from my mic. I nearly hurt my neck my trying to move my head around fast.

No stutters on my end noticed but just in case for those affected:

i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

Guys, I don't get what are you complaining about lol. I just put the LOD to 4.0 and I barely see the popup with minimal FPS impact. Yes there is a small stutter when I aggressively change the view but hell yeah, it is waaaaaaaaay smoother than how it is used to be! 😄

Asode from those initial stutter/pauses, yours looks way smoother than mine.

Seems like I'm gonna wait it out for a few days before updating to SU5. From reading the comments in this thread it looks like they have stripped away performance from us PC users in order to make it run better for their X-Box consoles. This is a real shame for us hardcore PC simmers like myself. With that being said. They really do need to give the PC version of MSFS more configurable options, especially for those of us with more powerful hardware. I feel like I wasted a lot of money building a powerful machine just so that I can enjoy the sim at it's full potential only to find out with the latest update that they have gone and taken it away. Not sure whose decision it was, whether it be Microsoft or Asobo. Please do what's right. Take all these negative feedback to make the sim more configurable for a much wider audience now that you guys have a console version. Don't forget that this is suppose to be a real next gen flight sim. It looks like it's not so next gen anymore with things being taken away. The answer is so obvious. Give the PC version toggles, sliders, etc in the settings. So that users with more powerful hardware can use them!

As much as I want to, I cannot jump on the negativity band wagon. Yeah I know, this is avsim, but guys come on... Just try it for yourself. What good does it do you "not trying it, because someone else did not like it" You never know what addons/ bad pc's or whatever others use. I usually fly around in the Kalispell / KGPI area. I use Track IR and play in 4k Ultra without motion blur or depth of field. And it went from a ~45 fps to 57. Solid increase. I also noticed a little "sharpening" or redrawing on the trees for the first minute or so but now it has been rock solid and at least to me there is no discernable popin. I am aware of the video that is going around but I tend not to switch interior/exterior views 180° apart from each other like a mad man. With looking around with TrackIR I have not noticed any downgrade.

System is a 5800X/ RTX3080 / 32GIG on an X570 MoBo. Definite jump forward for me.
