Couldn't you do the same by lowering your setting last week?

That's your answer? Lower the settings? How about no.

Though not everyone sees it as a sacrifice. In my case, I generally run without Photogrammetry because I think more often than not, it's pretty fugly

Stutter can be cause by OC for CPU. I see you are OC at 5GHZ on all cores.

I've got my 10850 locked at 5Ghz on all cores. No stutters at all. I've been using KBWI to KJFK as my test flight. Landings at JFK have been super smooth. Loving it.

They should make this new streaming thing a toggle in the graphics menu instead of forcing it on everyone.

Well I finally got MSFS going tonight, after a couple of hours of troubleshooting which turned out to be a add on problem that I bought from the market Place.  Anyway, these stutters and loading problems when changing views, I am not seeing at all. Looks just like it did before the update.

LOL, yes, the game was built on this idea, but lets turn it off. Might as well lower all the autogen, AI, and cars on the road, and we can all run MSFS on a potato. I kid, i kid.

Have you tried it? Honestly, it looks really good without the autogen popping up all over.

Here's a video I took of the scenery popping in.  This is in Chicago, just after taking off from Midway.  This is using TrackIR looking off to the side, and then looking back ahead as I often do when looking at the scenery around the aircraft (or flying in the pattern).

It's not horrible, but it definitely hits the immersion a bit.  In the exterior view, they've slowed the panning speed enough that the scenery can keep up, but maybe TrackIR and VR headsets move too quickly for the sim to keep up.  A simply field of view slider would probably fix it.  I assume Asobo has been slammed trying to get the release done in time; I hope now they'll maybe be able to add this option in.

A few other random factoids.  1)  Object LOD doesn't help past a certain point; I have it set to 14 (!) in this clip.  There's obviously a limit.  2) Terrain LOD seems have the biggest effect on the performance right now.  Setting it to 4-5 definitely started slowing my sim down insofar as fps and stutters.  Object LOD has almost no effect.  System is 5600x/3090/32GB with MSFS running on an NVMe drive.

did you watch the video? Unless you're going to be violently moving your head around, then I dont think you have anything to worry about as far as trackir goes . The videos are being overly exaggerated. Nobody flies from the outside view and keep switching back and forth. If you actually fly the plane like a real plane, none of this matters.

And for the real diehards dont you guys stay in the cockpit to actually fly the airplanes or just go outside panning around aggressively?

I was concerned about stutters when looking around with TrackIR, not scenery popping in. Flying like real planes includes looking around a lot, sometimes quite fast which you can do with TrackIR. Ok, some comments gave me some hope. I won't be able to try the new update until tomorrow so all I can do is read the forum. Since some were saying it's bad, I believed it.

Here's a random area in the sim with trees. Sorry for the background noise from my mic. I nearly hurt my neck my trying to move my head around fast.

Thanks heaps! Well I woke up, download was complete. Trying to load a flight, waiting, washed teeth, made coffee, nothing. Reboot. Loading flight, loading gets to the finish line in 10 minutes. sits there. Decided to go on my business before I get upset and come back later 🙂

Might sound stupid, but do you also have the equal amount of popping-ins when using default LODs (2.0 for both objects and terrain)? And: do you use Bijan's tree mod?

Honestly, I was running the Naples discovery tour just after updating the sim yesterday, all addons deactivated via Addon-Linker. It was perfect, almost no popping in. Only when panning or changing views really, really fast I could observe some popping in. Then, I re-activated some addons meant to be alread SU5 compatible including Bijan's tree mod, increased the LOD in the UserOpt.cfg to both 4.0 for objects and terrain and bang! Popping ins like hell. Did not have time to test any further, but this very short testing somehow instantly told me: might be something wrong with Bijans mod or with the increased LOD, or the combination of both... Further tests needed of course...

BTW: it might also be that we are somehow back to "FSX-like" days, where you could basically overload your system without actually having bad FPS resulting in comparable issues. Could simply be that my specific hardware combination is unable to load the scenery fast enough when using LOD 4.0, no matter if it has an effect on FPS or not.

I'll give it a try tomorrow. Maybe with fresh eyes I'll see things differently.

Thanks.

I had a bad motherboard in my old system and it did exactly that.

Couldn't you do the same by lowering your setting last week? Now aboso did it for you. There's no magic coding or coding dust to get the better performance. They didn't rewrite the software. They took from here to give you that. They mislea... or I was mistaken by the hype.

he can now fly with higher settings and higher/smoother frames, so he doesn't need to lower the settings like "last week" 🙄
