Looks like you haven't been on the official forum lately. They already acknowledge the issue and tried to fix it, but only managed to fix it partially. They are on it to release a full fix.

They must know about it for crying out loud, why don't the just acknowledge the issue and say yes we can mend it or if not explain why not. There was a lot of talk at the beginning of the release of 2020 about how Asobo and MS were loyal to the simming community and that we should not be worried about being 'sold out' to the Xbox gaming community. But it's starting to grate with me personally as we continually get aircraft releases and world updates with lots of eye candy to flower the edges of 2020 but all the time the bugs and unfinished aspects of the sim appear to be ignored.

About them not acknowledging the issue: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/white-dot-visible-since-1-33-3-0-only-partially-fixed-in-1-33-8-0-release-version/591712/287

And this AAU2 update is anything but "eye candy" lol, is that what you really think the extensive list if improvements to the 787, 747, and other default aircraft in this update are? (and same for AAU1). If so, hard to take you seriously I'm afraid... Whining about being "sold out" to the "xbox gaming community" is rather hyperbolic and dramatic. Oh and newsflash, there is a "simming community" that use XBox as their hardware, hardware that is more powerful than a lot of PCs being used by the Serious Simmer ™️ crowd.

I've seen this white dot and box around my PMDG 737-700 since my day-one purchase of the 737 well over a year ago. So whatever the problem is, it can't be blamed solely on AAU2. And, yes, I do use the XBox controller on my PC.

I had it a month or two ago for a few days, and with the PMDG 737 it seemed to ne with one livery 90% of the time ( UPS)..Been flying American Airlines for the last week or so, and haven't seen it yet. I know that is odd, but it is what it is.

OK, thanks for the heads up. I hadn't seen that. Cheers.

Hi Len, I appreciate your frank reply, but I nevertheless stand by my opinion. There are a load of bugs and issues still need fixing in 2020 I'm sorry you didn't appreciate the overall theme and content of my post. I'm glad you pointed that out, @Bobsk8. I'll try a different livery and see whether that makes any difference on my own system. I know some of the different liveries change out the default cockpit instrumentation. So this could be a valuable clue in discerning the underlying bug.

It's called "The xBox Curse" and it'll plague all simmers pretending they're hardcore Captains using their PRO sim to the line!

Also for them to remember not to ever take phychedelic drugs before entering their cockpits !

I pushed the update this morning before leaving to work, loaded the ATR 72 for a short ride and I don't recall having noticed anything different honestly, but I wasn't wearing have my close vision googles ? Will check again tonight.

It was always there with the Xbox controller. Problem is, with the AAU update, game now sees joystick POV hats, some eye tracking devices etc. as game controllers as lights up the screens as well when you look at them.

I've started getting the white frame problem for the first time in the PMDG 737-700. I have a Tobii eye tracker, and the white frames only appear after I have recentred it. If I then use the mouse to look round, and go back to Tobii, the problem seems to go away. No white dot so far, and I'm using an Xbox controller for the drone cam. I think I can live with it until the fix.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I see this dot that alternates with my mouse and ffb2 (2 decade old!) Joystick pretty much all the time.  I also use track ir so maybe there's a weird relationship between them all.

Sometimes it makes clicking on things impossible.

Or maybe it's a sign that I should replace my 20 yr old stick lol

Fair enough, all I am saying is yes while they do release various aircraft add-ons (both free and for-pay) and also visual improvements with the world updates (which a lot of us in the simming community actually want), they also keep pumping out aircraft/avionics and sim realism updates, especially with these AAUs, another example being weather/airflow modelling (i.e. CFD for atmospheric airflow modelling, etc) or heli physics, etc. And they also continually address bugs. So at least to me they just seem to be trying to balance their output of work for sim realism, and visuals, and casual-fun stuff. If MS/Asobo were "selling out" to the "xbox gaming" community then we would not be getting all the core sim and aircraft/avionics realism improvements would we. And as has been discussed to death around here already, stopping work on visuals or whatever doesn't necessarily mean those devs can work on core sim issues since skill sets are different.. also note that a bunch of these "casual fun" add-ons are outsourced to 3rd party devs.

Where they definitely can improve on is to avoid introducing regressions... OTOH, I'm in the software field so I also understand how regressions are unavoidable with software this complex. What they could (and maybe should?) have done is to hold up the release date of this recent update until the white dot/borders issues was fully fixed... but I imagine that is outside of the dev team's control as MS product management probably either felt this AAU2 had to go out on this date, or felt it could go out with this white-dot/border regression (or a long-standing issue that's now more prevalent with this update) and then fix it subsequently in another update as they've stated in the official forums.

A balanced and reasonable view. I would add that not respecting release dates can involve a money penalty . Asobo is a contractor for MS.

But it has been three years now we see that. There seems to be a systemic problem they should address for our mutual benefit (users and vendor).

I think that when beta testers report a problem, that should put a stop on releasing the update, until the problem is fixed, no exceptions.

Well THAT will stop all software development forever…

Then we would get nothing and most will moan when we can not have good things.

No product is perfect and will always have bugs.
