August 6, 20214 yr Downloaded the update. Installed and started. Already had vsync on and FR locked at 30. Turned on Nvidia FR counter and saw I was getting Sixty + FPS. Surely a mistake. So I went to dev and turned on dev FR counter. Same thing. Then I locked my frames at sixty. FR counter is now reporting 85+ and its consistent, smooth, without tears and I have never been more happier. As a bonus, graphics detail and color are all back to SU4 glory Thank You Asobo and Microsoft This was a very pleasant surprise Here is some video I shot. 13 min raw: -Braun Edited August 6, 20214 yr by btacon Added video Link
August 6, 20214 yr I've lost around 5 fps at average at vegas on high. Edited August 6, 20214 yr by Tuskin38
August 6, 20214 yr I never had crashes and perf was up for me with SU5 and the first hotfix. I was able to go to ultra presets and NYC was giving me 40-50 fps. With this new hotfix, my perf is down. Average fps is down 10-20%. I had to go back to “High End” presets which are giving me lower perf than before the hotfix. But everything still looks good and no CTDs at all. Average fps is now 25-35 depending.

August 6, 20214 yr Almost no difference since the su5 performance upgrade. Turned terrain LOD up to 4 now and still excellent. I think I’m scoring about 15% better than update 4. August 7, 20214 yr I've seen a significant increase in FPS. Taking off from EGLC with SU4 would be single digit/low teens, SU5 around mid 20's. With the Hotfix it's 30+. And I've been able to increase terrain lod from 100 to 200. Elsewhere I've seen decent increases too of 10%+ and all indicators in non-photogammetry areas are green, previously would have often have been red on CPU or GPU usage. Very impressed.
August 7, 20214 yr Performance gain is still impressive, even with higher LOD settings and more VRAM/RAM usage. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
