August 12, 20214 yr Well, i used to be a hardcore P3D and FSL guy but i must say that after SU5 with the FBW320 and those amazing graphics i can't go back to P3D anymore. I bought so many stuff for P3D and it hurts but honestly i can't fire it up. MSFS2020 is so amazing and it is maturing every month and all thos great addons. I stay here, espacially with the spare time i have... Just wanted to let you know, 😉 even if nobody cares Carsten U
August 12, 20214 yr I have a friend who doesn´t actually like the state FS is at the moment but can´t fly XPlane either after seeing MSFS. So , basically he can´t enjoy nor one nor the the other, consider yourself lucky ;) Iñigo Bildarratz

MSFS isn't perfect but honestly the clouds and lightning alone is worth to give it a chance. And i am sure it will mature pretty fast. And the night lighting .. I mean, this really looks so aewsome Carsten U
August 12, 20214 yr I have liked msfs since the beginning. I got rid of P3D almost immediately, but still mess around fairly often in X-Plane. Right now though, with Sim update 5, the additional fluidity that was missing, especially in glass cockpits has now been added, and for me that was the final piece of the puzzle. For me now there is essentially nothing that touches this Sim, even with all the complaints and people constantly saying they're giving up on it. I'm very curiously waiting to see what will show up in X-PlaneNext, but honestly, despite all the drama, I believe Microsoft flight simulator is going to be the future of flight simulation for at least the next decade. August 12, 20214 yr Same, with all the msfs issues, It’s still flyable and very enjoyable for me, (especially since receiving my honeycomb yoke last week, makes a world of difference from my ch yoke, now if only my HC bravo can arrive!). Can’t go back to p3d, was never an x-plane simmer so not sure what I’m missing out on on the x-plane side of things. August 12, 20214 yr Author yeah, i mean it is not perfect but have to say after one year in a good shape and it has potential. did a descend with the FBW320 last night into EIDW and all those ships and the scenery and lighting. I felt in love Carsten U

I'm having a ball learning the A320 in P3D while I’m practicing my newly acquired skills in MSFS 2020. What an amazing time for those like me who love simulations and simulators! -btacon
August 12, 20214 yr If Asobo adds the slider to allow everyone to control the culling and pop-ins, I think MSFS will be in an even better state than after Sim Update 4. Personally for me, because I have a pretty mediocre computer, I really like the culling and I don't mind the pop-ins from a far distance, because the trade off is that I get 35 to 45 FPS now. Even with the 787 which was an FPS killer, I think I get 30 to 37 FPS flying over Vancouver, after SU5. Prior to SU5, I would get like low 20 FPS with the 787 over Vancouver. So I personally don't need the slider, I like it the way it is. But I understand that some people don't like the culling and pop-ins and they want the slider. So for everyone else, if Asobo adds that slider in to control the culling and pop-ins, MSFS will be in the best state its ever been in. Oh yeah, they gotta fix some of the CTDs as well, which they promised for WU6. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

No other flight sim on this planet, can touch nVidia WaterWorks2 at Ultra in P3D v5.2HF2. None...for wave/water motion, plane interaction physics. None... for looks, for realism. None...so until MSFS get in gear with water bodies, and the physics between your plane, boat, whatever...and the water (including effects) I can most certainly say for myself, that there is no barrier to not still fire up P3D, even for only water/plane Amphibian operations. Nothing comes close to P3D for this...and that includes MSFS SU5HF2!

It was several terabytes of things that I had carefully preserved for years, much of which is unavailable and or can no longer be found. But it was time to give it up. Everything Changes, and some of that stuff was literally decades old, transferred lovingly from drive to drive as they failed but never ever likely to be used again. A few weeks ago, after hesitating for quite a while over the delete button, I finally got rid of it all, feeling like I was giving up a part of my life. We are all connected.....
