September 8, 20214 yr Credit, where credit's due, this is the best update so far. My PC specs are below and after this update i can now run on ultra (albeit 1080P) Vegas (Flytampa version ) with no stuttering etc, it's as smooth as silk. AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

September 8, 20214 yr Just an update, everything is running great. In VR I'm seeing some weird light reflections at night? Anyone seen if this is a known bug? AME GE90, GP7200 CFM56

Even with pre terrain caching set to ultra its still using only 9GB of system ram and 7GB of VRAM? I think it strongly depends where you fly. In Vancouver area, where I have several add-ons active, system RAM is up to 24 GB and VRAM goes up to 14 GB. LODs were set to 4.5. September 8, 20214 yr Well I don't know what black magic Asobo has pulled out of the bag here, but performance and visuals are now superb for me. Even better than SU5 somehow, although I did just install the latest motherboard and GPU drivers due to an issue with them not getting on nicely (solved now). I know I am lucky; I managed to get a 3080Ti next day delivery just recently, and as I have a good brand 850w power supply with three separate PCIe power feeds, it has dropped straight in. I now have super smooth frame rates and the best visuals I have ever had in MSFS. I am now on Vsync 30 from inside the sim, everything maxed out, including the new settings, and in my user config I am at 350 / 500 on the LODs, and shadows at 8192 (nice and sharp)! (Edit: I meant to add, 4k native at 100% scaling). This set-up with 32 gig of RAM and my trusty 8086k at 5.1 Ghz now holds rock solid, and is nearly capable of 60fps, but not quite. It drops to 56-57 fps in some circumstances, which makes it stutter, and with this and the extra heat / fan noise, 60 fps isn't quite worth is, yet, maybe with DX12! Apparently DX12 has given a major boost to Train Sim World 2 recently, (-DX12 in the config), and people are reporting jumps from 30 fps to 50 fps on ultra settings. I wouldn't expect this from MSFS of course. So, I am really happy with what Asobo have done, especially with the new adjustable settings, and they should be congratulated on this. If I had three wishes to improve the visuals even more now, they would be 1. attend to the morphing landscape, 2. have a look at the clouds again, as they are a bit funky lately with lower res and strange colour banding underneath, 3. Please get rid of that infernal spinning circle in the bottom right corner of the screen. Apparently some of the Asobo team felt demoralised after the initial SU5 update. I think they should be thanked for what they have done on this update to pull things back. Edited September 8, 20214 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). September 8, 20214 yr Just now, jarmstro said: Enable Dev mode then switch it off = spinning circle begone! 😀 Yes, that does seem to work for a while. Also clearing the log file while in dev mode seems to reduce it for some strange reason, unless it is a placebo effect. I understand we do need to see something moving while loading the sim etc. But they just need to make it disappear off the screen altogether when we are flying - it just isn't needed then and spoils recorded videos and screenshots. Strangely enough, I don't think I have seen it in Asobo's videos, so they may have banished it in their version! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
