Pretty sure all flightsim forums these days are geezers comparing their epeens and word not allowedting on Asobo...

There's the occasional good topic but  I do read an awful lot of moaning 😄 Makes me want to troll so hard, but I have to behave 😄

LOL! Actually, the very first flightsim, if you can call it that, that I fkew was called 747 Simulator. It was all ASCII text characters as computers didn't have graphics then. No sound, you just watched the ascii spinners and the numbers changing. In a way it was pure instrument flight.  🙂

I’m 65, and back in the day without computers, the closest thing to flight sims were kites. My first kite had a drawing of John Glenn’s head on it, so that’s 60 years ago. When Sublogic flight simulator came along, it was a stunning technological wonder, flirting with the possibility of breaking the 1 FPS barrier!

We had to walk 3 miles every day to the public library flight sim computer. The white haired matron would spring out from behind her desk and whack you with a ruler when you over played the sound effects. We called her Miss Speedy because she ran so fast!

All this old geezer talk reminds me of the magazine I used to collect and read going back a few decades ago. It was called Full Throttle and died sometime around 2000 I think. I used to really look forward to each issue of that one.

Exactly this but for me it was not that colorful on a green monochrome monitor 😂

Cheers T.

Forget flight sims, my moaning started with the poor wing to fuselage joints on my Airfix kits, well before any flight sim!

My dad started me off though, so I blame him.  He said his 1929 link trainer was absolutely awful!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

You should just out-trump them. Tell them all they are mere amateurs and 'noobs'; you've been moaning about stuff since the very early days of moaning, back when when moaning about things was done with 8 bit wireframe grumpiness.
