You only have one chance...PMDG, Fenix or Maddog?

Featured Replies

We know that 2022 is going to be a watershed year for MSFS. At least 3 great addons will be released, PMDG 737, Fenix 320 and Maddog X MD82.

If 3 developers release their addons at the same time and you only had the money to buy one of them, which one would you choose?

Honestly it's a difficult choice, but for me love speaks louder... I will go from Maddog without regret.

Is that you? What would be the choice?

I will grab all three in one sweep LOL

Fenix by far at this point.  I have posted before that me personally am not really one for the 'historic' aircraft type of thing.  The more and more I know about the B737 the more I realize this should have been 'clean sheeted' 10 years ago.  Its done, put a fork in it - I blame Southwest Airlines.  And this coming from a Boeing fan my whole life who has been to their plant 20 times over the years.

I agree, why limit ourselves. Plenty of time to set aside some funds for all three. Also many of us will have the NGXu discount.

I would get the Maddog, the other ones aren't really in the running against the Maddog IMO.

If it lives up to the hype, Fenix A320. Looks far ahead of the competition.

Failing that, the Maddog. Good to get something different from PMDG's same old, same old, and it's apparently a very polished add-on.

All three will be great additions to the Sim, but for me it has to be the PMDG 737.

I can’t see this topic progressing very well.

Pitting platforms addons against each other always seems to bring out the worst in the community.

I’d vote having all 3 simultaneously.

If I don't hear "Stabilizer Motion" after I turn on AP 1, then I'm just not living. 🤣

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

PMDG 737 for me, if it's under $100 USD (hopefully, it's under $80, but I guess we will see). Fenix A320 is really, really, nice.  But as some people have mentioned, the FBW A320 is so good now, and it's free.  You can't compete against free, especially when free is probably worth $50 or $60 if it were sold commercially.

Personally, I am more interested in the modern airliners that are still in service.  So I am less interested in the Maddog. But I can understand some people that love classical airliners.  Having said that, I am also excited to see the Maddog enter MSFS.  With the PMDG 737, Fenix A320, and Maddog entering MSFS, it will showcase what MSFS is capable of.

FENIX AND PMDG!

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

Leonardo!
Never had their MD80 in P3D or FSX but I have only heard good things about this addon and if those three addons were the only ones becoming available this year, I'd definitely go for the MD80!

Why not Fenix or PMDG?
I'm having a good time flying the FBW A320, so I'll definitely not spend money on Fenix' A320 and I'm done with PMDG and their way of treating customers.

If those three addons are released the same day and I had only 100EUR to spend, I'd save my money and grab the Inniebuilds A310 a month after.

Fenix, probably. That's the only one that is being built from the ground-up for MSFS and not being ported over.
