What is the date for next update

No, not at all.

The thread concerns a world update, but your rant concerned a Sim Update.  World and Sim updates are now on an alternating schedule, so this is hardly the thread to complain about bugs - maybe a seperate thread would be better?

Fair points. But allow me to explain: I can assure you that without any doubt there are droves of developers who are utterly fed up with working their ***ses off building decent mods and addons, some for free and some commercial, and who are constantly having to go back to the drawing board after many hundreds of hours work because of an update that made a previous bug/flaw even worse, or completely ruined a whole lot of development based on what appeared to be a change or bug that made previous progress useless. The reason not many of them complain very loudly is purely for reasons of not rocking the boat so they get to the market place and remain in the good books of MS and others.

I no longer have that constraint so I don't have a problem stating what many others are thinking but are keeping quiet. Alongside the Bonanza mod I have had to abandon two other very time consuming projects (at least 2 thousand hours) because each time I get to the home stretch Asobo changes things, but not because they are better, but because they either don't check basic work or because they keep moving the goal posts for no good reason (ie not to improve things but actually making things worse through a lack of checking and quality control).

Yes, you are right in saying that updates are scheduled as they are. My point is that while bugs are inevitable when developing a complex sim, most of the new bugs are simply there because whoever changed things intending to improve the sim did not bother check really elementary items before signing them off (like for example starting the sim for a few minutes and checking basic functions before releasing yet another change). The latest VFR map and other bugs are indicative of this. While I understand that World updates alternate with other updates, it shouldn't take Asobo much trouble to put right a glaring bug that could easily be fixed.

So I apologise for exhausting you, but I can assure you there are many others who are even more exhausted after this constant dance around silly bugs that scupper their sincere attempts to improve things for all users.

I think this comment is for someone else.

It seems people forget the Terrain Spikes bug that occurred after a World Update, plus wasn't there an issue with the UK update and photogrammetry? (Something like that anyway). Either way any update to a software system can create issues, so whilst the chances are perhaps smaller with a World Update they're not immune from including bugs & issues.

Covilhã is closed??   Oh well.

Cascais, near Lisbon was always neat to fly out of.  Seems like there was also an airport called Portimão in the south that was an interesting region.

I remember seeing a couple of the Portuguese bridges around the 'net available for download for MSFS.  Portugal does have some spectacular bridges.  I wonder how many will be in this WU.  There used to be a NATO air base at Beja...although I doubt it's in there in any great detail if it's still an active base.

Yep,

LPPM ( Portimão ) is also a very nice aerodrome, but since I only fly gliders it was never an option - noglider flying in Algarve due in part to airspace restrictions, but also the lack of investment and support.

Covilhã was closed due to political and stupid financial decisions 😕  In it's place a datacenter and calldesk center were built but part of the runway is still visible there and it's represented, the moron buildings and what remains of the old runways, in MFS.

What! Seriously?
What does it have to do with the accident? Accidents happen all the time.
Are we allowed to fly in China in the sim or is it a no fly zone for the next 2 days?
If you need a delay, just say it.
Sorry but that’s a bad excuse

What a load of rubbish

I'm extremely suspicious of the motive, shameful or just stupid?

I know what I think

Let me guess, the Q&A is still going forward tomorrow to market more stuff?

They did it before, when an update contained a boo-boo they delayed it until after the Q&A so that we don't question them live about it. I had little respect left for them but this is a new level of shame to blame it on a tragic event.

To be clear this is not about having to wait two more days.

I hope not, but it's possible.  That would be horrible.

OTOH, if you want to get into conspiracy theories, it's possible that, given the speculation among western intelligence services today about the likelihood of Russian cyberattacks about to hit the U.S. and Europe, Microsoft may have decided to do additional work on securing their servers in advance.

Jeez the comments here. For few days delay that make bunch of adults crying. Get over it, is not the end of the world. They could have their own reasons why and we shall understand that.

Aviation is an industry with risk.  No  company would ground all flights because of an accident which I know was terrible and my heart goes out to the families of those involved and their friends.

Aviation companies are proffessional.  They know they are in the transport business and as far as possible keep to their timetables and do not stop flights because of feelings.

It seems a flight simulator company is not and ignores the planned flights its customers had laid out to perform in the new update.  Time to start putting customers first which may be a new thought for developers.

I'm gonna put this down on the ever growing list of "eh?!" decisions by Microsoft/Asobo.
