No I haven't, although that's a good idea.

Should work with most payware GA.... Just Flight Arrows/Warrior, Carenado stuff, H135/145, Optica from GotFriends, Nextgen EMB110 - if you have any of those.  You could check.

I looked in a number of the default planes but I don’t believe they utilize the unit, nor does any of the payware aircraft I currently have.

I've discovered that this plane can fly an ILS...provided I haven't used GPS mode prior to the approach.

In other words, if I take off and fly a course based on GPS, the autopilot will not capture the ILS signal later on. But if I take off in HDG mode, once I arrive in a position to capture the ILS, the autopilot is fine recognizing it.

Just as an aside, the only time I find the AP will descend via a RNAV Glidepath, is once I've descended to the last fix prior to the runway (it doesn't recognize the FAF as a descent point). This is the same sort of behavior I observed from the planes in MSFS2020 prior to WT's G1000.

Hopefully someone who has the latest version of the PMS GTN750 installed in another plane can report on how it is working. It is hard to understand why the exact same code that works with the TDS GTNXi when intercepting and flying a VOR course, does not seem to be working with the PMS GTN.

Sharing this since I got an email about an update to the G44A Widgeon (thanks FSW!), and while i was there I also went ahead and re-downloaded the latest file for the C414A since there was a slight possibility of an update occurring since the last one I downloaded yesterday morning,.  Sure enough there was a readme inside the ZIP for a 1.3 hotfix which I guess was issued sometime later yesterday or last night?  At any rate, happy to see the pace of the ongoing work:

Quote

1. Major engine performace update. Fixed high altitude loss of power.

2. Updated specifications from hangar.

3. Type name updated from 414A to 414AW.

4. NOTE: VLOC NAV mode we found is not working in the PMS50 GTN750 and reported this as the TDS GTN75 works.

NOTE: Beta_1.2_hotfix and higher now has automixture enabled for this aircraft without having to change the sims settings. The real aircraft turbocharger includes a fuel control unit to maintain the fuel flow no matter what altitude. Asobo still needs to address this as the real aircraft you can still adjust the mixture to set the fuel flow level to control heat in the EGT. But if we disable the auto fuel and flow you will be constantly changing the mixture as you climb and that is not realistic.

Bought the 414 today along with the TDS, will hopefully fly tomorrow, first flight in MSFS for 3 months.....This aircraft looks really good, so does the TDS, dont care if the data base is old it works of the real trainer thats really good  for me.

Thank you Ryan for all your insight.

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Stoopy. I downloaded it but nothing has changed for me; I tried two identical flights today; KMOD to KLVK. In the first flight, I began in GPS nav and switched to VLOC for the approach. The LOC and GS annunciators illuminate, showing armed, but the AP would not capture either.

Then I did the same flight, starting out in HDG mode. This time, the AP captured the LOC and GS correctly.

There seems to be a bug in the switching logic between GPS and VLOC modes. Just for kix, after the approach was tracking correctly in the second example, I tried switching back to GPS and then to VLOC. Sure enough, even though the ILS has been properly captured, it was unable to do it again, once I had made the switch to GPS (and back to VLOC).

Has anyone else has had problems with the fuel computer? I only just got the 414 so im not sure if anything has changed over the betas but I’ve done 2 flights (in 1.3.1 and 1.3.2) and both times the GAL REM stayed constant and unchanging.

I did read the manual carefully and correctly set the GAL REM to the correct value preflight to match the fuel loaded on the plane. The fuel flow shows up correctly but the Gallons doesnt count down.

Same. Stays at 206 (full) the entire flight.

Known issue, developer is aware and I am sure this will be addressed,  I believe the focus right now is working out AP kinks,

I notice in the newest version, the tendency to nosedive when initially engaging the AP after takeoff seems to have been fixed.  Good thing because I was hauling 2,000lbs of Televisions in NeoFly from the Dominican Republic to MTCH in Haiti and was 900 pounds overweight, and she was a little touch and go there for a while after takeoff. 😎

Steady improvements as she goes...

Ah ok thanks for letting me know.

anyone know if the autopilot is fixed with latest update? standard AP with the GNS, gps course hold

Just did a flight following GPS from MDST with RNAV approach to MTCH and it was fine, but that was with the TDS GTNxi.

yeah, I'm looking for feedback on the standard AP w/ GNS as it seems to be behaving different than the fancy GTN AP
