I only see attempts which often result in regressions (weather, FM, DX12.. ) There are distractions like Development Updates, Developer Q&As that should give impression that someting is really going on but some real stuff is rarely to be seen. April 11, 20224 yr Let's take a moment to agree on what a 'troll' is. From wiki: "a troll is a person who posts inflammatory, insincere, digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community...." Point by point: Inflammatory: yes, but....that is at least 50% the responsibility of the respondents and their propensity to become inflammed. Insincere: was Versus insincere? I don't think so, he's misaligned w/ the big picture but seems sincere, mostly. digressive/extraneous: I don't see it off-topic: nope! I was tagged by two moderators as a 'troll', over on the rabid dog forum. I challenged a local rabid dog that his comments were patently false and therefore designed to be inflammatory, and not because of the truth of the statements, but because of their clear falsity. But I was the party who got booted off by one moderator in particular who let heinous insults the locals slide by--I felt he was being manipulated by the rabid dogs, over and over. Oh well, there's is to try to keep the peace so I don't hold it against him personally. Anyway, I don't see Versus as a troll, but he has a shallow view of the big picture I feel. April 11, 20224 yr Maybe the OP was in the tech alpha like I was. There definitely have been regressions. I'm pretty sure this had to be done to allow for xbox compatibility. I still have many of my old TA screenshots. The version we have today has lower quality clouds, far less LOD radius and overall terrain sharpness - especially noticeable when mountain flying. This was all at a cost though. Before changing to my new rig, I'd say the the TA and even the initial RTM releases were pretty rough on systems. I'd say they had to strike a balance and where we're at now is a decent tradeoff for quality vs performance. Good changes that we now have are METAR-based weather (still need that visibility value Asobo!), pretty nice looking night scenes, many aerodynamic improvements (more needed hehe), GUI changes / Marketplace works a little better, as per above - performance improvements... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

You make some good points. However, in this case the title "What have you done in 600 days?..." comes across as a provocative taunt, which makes it sound like trolling. The suggestion that there have been no changes or improvements in MSFS in the 20 months since it launched, is so uninformed as to be ridiculous.

Sim was extraordinary at the release and promises were to bring it to balance with the parts not so evolved at the beginning. And this part of the promise is not going well. Like they can't do better, and frequently get stuck with maybe too difficult tasks. Instead a myriad small things gets improved. but some of them we don't notice, or we don't care about. I admit fixing things and improving performance is also part of the process. Maybe they need something big , once in a while, like VR was (although one expects that in the modern sim) and avionics. FM and weather although present on the release notes have not turned up better (my opinion - browse the forum topics and see what others think) Some were listed as high priorities (ATC, AI) but seem to be slipping down the list constantly. As much as they need cash and advance items that cater for that, we hold them by their word that FS2020 will be for the "serious simmer" and ask what we deem important for us. No offense.
April 11, 20224 yr lol: for some reason this feels like when the Christmas pantomine villain shows up at the end applause. I dont think MS needs my cash mind, but i will happily donate a tenor to them.🙂 Edited April 11, 20224 yr by icewater5
April 11, 20224 yr The Sim has progressed in many areas, it's also regressed in others. Overall it's leaning towards being better than it was on release for me, but not by much. Take VR (a feature they were never interested in supporting in the first place) released then practically forgotten about aside the addition of weak controller support, overall it's had problems since SU7 that are still not fixed in SU9 beta. So sideways, nothing forward in that department, other areas like Cloud graphics have regressed since the SU5 fiasco, the weather is another, live servers struggling and have been for months. But of course other areas have improved; World Updates have got much better, the flight model is progressing nicely, many of the initial irritating bugs are gradually getting fixed, performance has improved (at the expense of visuals in some cases, see aforementioned SU5 fiasco). Overall you ask two people and you'll get two entirely different answers, I see what I see and that's all that matters to me. The Sim is still great at times and I thoroughly enjoy it but at the same time it's also a frustrating mess, poorly handled by the head Devs who are struggling to really move the Sim forward whilst smiling pleasantly for the Q&A cameras pretending everything is great(!). Also "i like what i like", IFR or VFR, GA or Airliners , reality or click, real weather or click and go and so on. Sometimes, like now, i would like to understand programming more.

The developers of MSFS have researched the number of people using VR regularly , and they say it is around 10%. Probably that is the main reason it is not very high on their list of fixes to be addressed.

It's obvious that no one will agree on how this progressions manifests itself but it is certainly heading in the right direction. If it does not satisfy certain users, Xplane and P3D would be better choices. I for one would never go back. OOh nailed it

(Rhetorical questions) All points to poor management with a lack of interest, regardless of VR user numbers I just don't think they have their heart set on VR at all or even know which direction they want to take it in, case in point the very fact they weren't going to include VR at all initially. I fully accept this feature is not high priority and I could live with minor updates every now and then, but the very fact they've ignored the ( VR) wish list and bug sections for well over a year now speaks volumes to me, not to mention the SU7 mouse issues which should never of been allowed to manifest in the first place.
