The seasons piece I envisioned on initial release of MSFS could be a shader-based architecture which looks at GPS location/elevation/time of year and changes plant coloration accordingly. It could be that 25 people have been working in the background on this for the past year so that when it's time to release it will be miles ahead of what we have currently. We really don't know how MS/A allocates work but again I'm struck but just how complete MSFS already is, not that there isn't ultimately infinite room for improvement! I think they plan to make seasons procedural. They already said they could have done just textures ages ago, if they wanted to. Edited June 12, 20223 yr by Jeff Nielsen Jeff D. June 12, 20223 yr Excited. The Halo part caught me out for minute. I was thinking: Yeah, sure. Why not build the sim to include near space/orbit? Space station and what have you. Then, I came to and realized that's a Halo ad. I hope they are putting the A+ team on improving cloud depiction. It's such a huge part of the sim and it's become just way to soft/blurry. I hope, and believe it's plausible, we will be pleasantly surprised by where they take it over the next year or so. I guess we''ll see some of their planned cloud improvements in SU10 and the beta is likely to open in a week or two, given that they have stated in latest dev update https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/620374-june-9th-2022-development-update/:Cloud - Layer Improvements (Bugs LT #2, #17): SU10: Fine-tuning of the cloud layer system to be more precise and incremental is ongoing. The cloud layer will be much thinner at sea level and thicker at higher altitudes. The updated system will better depict a realistic cloud coverage at low altitude with an update of the weather panel. June 13, 20223 yr Interesting that, just like they did with the PC6, they are suddenly releasing an Asobo aircraft at exactly the same time as a competing product is about to hit the market. Edited June 13, 20223 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

Why is Asobo reinventing the wheel here so to speak? 6 hours ago, RichieFly said: The Halo part caught me out for minute. I was thinking: Yeah, sure. This is what they spend resources on. And don't tell me they have different teams, Seb is prob the only one working on core sim features. The rest is making Jorg happy with new content. June 13, 20223 yr Happy to see the Helicopters, but slightly worried about who they partnered with to make them.. Anyone know?

Like another statement by Sebastien regarding the modelling of thermals, this one also doesn't make a lot of sense to me ? What exactly are they talking about ? In the thermals ( updrafts as they put it in one of the Q&As ) they said they're stronger the higher the wind, which is quite the oposite IRL. Cloud layer thickness increasing with altitude depends a lot on the types of clouds. If we think of Ns or Cb and Cc or even mid / high level Sc Ac, or even thick fog layers, a lot deviates from that sentence ... Well, they're speaking a non-technical language, maybe... Really looking fwd into the Rotary Wings. Let's hope for the best ! I know only about the Ryan that got burned. All others are actually product already announced, but now released under MS's umbrella.
