Yes, even with DX11. I have turned DLSS off for now..

Same. Back to TAA. Still smooth but glass instruments back to crisp again, no blurring or ghosting like with DLSS

DLSS on "Balanced" + GF Freestyle's Sharpening filter make blurring less pronounced on my rig. Worth a try 😉

Changing a bit from the DLSS Yes / No theme - the new VFR Map features are really nice !

I didn't find a way to scroll across it when there's a lot of information to display. Maybe they'll add it in the final version.

At the flightsimulator.com forums I will probably also ask for frequency tuning when we click over a given frequency, as well as runway headings as additional info. I know both are just for the lazy like me, but nonetheless they would bne great to have 🙂

This is the first beta I'm interested in trying out. What are the main cons of trying out the beta? I'm not too worried about bugs, but do things like the add on linker and 3rd party mods and products mostly work?

The add-on linker makes symbolic folder links in the community folder. Symbolic links are a standard feature of the Windows file system and work in all Windows software, including any version of MSFS.

If you use the add-on linker to edit the content.xml and make changes to the add-on loading order, it might not work as SU10 apparently has a new way of handling loading order using an in-game menu somewhere, and/or using some new fields in content.xml that set load priorities.

Edit: There is also a separate topic about add-ons compatibility with SU10:

Most of the addons seem to be working with the latest beta.

Intel i7-9700K - AMD 7900 XT (VRAM 20GB) - 32 Gb Ram - SSD Drive - Win10 x64 - Samsung 43" 4K TV - Quest 3 VR

Add-on linker works with SU10, no issues. Navigraph Navdata center was trying to find content.xml while i was re-installing Airac cycles, but looks like everything is installed and working so far.

I can't even tell the difference between the SU9 and SU10. I see nothing more nothing less. It remains the same overall rendering.

The only noticeable difference is all that Bla Bla Bla about DLSS and its option in the settings home page.

It's definitely the same world with the same visual weaknesses.

Absolutely! Being able to check altitudes/frequencies/waypoints etc. in the same place on the fly is a godsend.

Did you try DX12? the first main difference is the  ground handling/taxi/take off procedure which is much smoother now with out a single micro-stutter etc while panning, zooming etc. Same goes when you land/arrive and taxing on destination airport.

I just saw your spec: You have a Beast CPU (5800x3d) with GTX1080? Which means you will be vram limited on DX12 + your cpu is much stronger than you gpu

I am pretty impressed with SU10 so far, and just goes to show how quickly improvements are now coming to the sim. So far no game breaking issues at all, I think MS and Asobo are now starting to fire on all cylnders, and switching from constant fiddling with the sim, and rushing to release updates, to more structered releases with beta testing by the community is now providing  dividends to all.

Yes there is still work to be done on certain aspects , but for me Msfs  has come on leaps and bounds this year.

Well done MS/ Asobo

I honestly didn't experience any negative impact from this beta, quite on the contrary...

It's simple:

1) Get the xBox Insider hub app in your PC and run it ;

2) On the left pan click "Previews" and select Flightsimulator Beta from the icons list ;

3) Hit "Join"

An update will take place ( just a bit more than 1 GB ) then it may suggest to restart the PC but that's really not necessary - simply start FS2020 and it'll offer to update. In my case it downloaded an additional 7+ GB.

Closer to the end of the beta testing period you can simply Leave the beta going through the xBox Insider App, same path and then opt out of the beta.

This beta offers really interesting features, from the new Graphics options ( fine tuned DX12 and Nvidia DLSS ), new VFR Map info, changes to the way METAR data blends with aloft forecast data, gusts back to the sim and present when they're reported in the METAR, etc...

Same for me.  After about 9 hours of testing over the weekend at different locations and different aircraft, I cannot find any negatives or new bugs at the moment.

It is now silky smooth with DLSS at 4k (50% sharpening added to combat a bit of instrument blur).  No stutters, and 3080Ti cool and quiet.
I never thought I would see this level of detail in a sim at 4k with my GPU barely breaking into a sweat.  So I am very pleased with this improvement.

As Filou said, there aren't too many actual visual improvements, but I wasn't expecting many anyway.
Cloud transparency at low level seemed better when flying through them, and airport runway lighting seemed to stand out less during the day, which is good.
Not sure if any of this has been helped by DLSS.

I don't own any of the PMDG 737's so I haven't seen the blurred text issue on the tapes, however, it does happen on the default (marketplace G1000NXi) when the numbers move quickly, but it doesn't bother me too much.  This is on Windows 11, 4k, ultra settings, DLSS on quality, and still on DX11 (I will try DX12 next time in).

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Thank you, with all those positive feedback, I’ll try that later today when I’ll be back from work. Just one simple question, what is exactly the issue with AIG, is it causing CTD for everyone?

I saw there is a workaround the CTD (that I haven’t fully understand to be honest), but does it mean we can no longer be using AIG on this BETA? What is it exactly because AIG model paired with MSFS liveTraffic is such an immersive feature, I use it when I fly GA or Airliner and I can’t go without it anymore
