But when I click, "load", the belt of the cargo loading ramp does move at all, and no luggage is loaded on/off the PMDG 737-800.

There is no animation included.

I don't have the MSFS PMDG, but the one in P3D had that. It was added in with an update if I remember correctly.

Yes, in "options" -> "simulation" in the FMC.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Oh I see.  I changed in the FMC to 2X, and changed the published sim rate to 2X.  I assume this is done to solve the issue with what happens when you change in-sim, instead.

The auto cruise mode works best with the PMDG. Don't set the sim rate manually at the same time though. In the FMC select an "up to" rate - 8x works okay on my hardware but start with up to 4 x initially.

The rate speedup is best used only in cruise. There is a clickspot on the clock labelled T/C (time compression) with a small up or down arrow appearing when you mouse over it. The display will turn green when time compression is on.

Auto cruise will drop automatically back to 1 x speed when the aircraft starts going off course and will turn on again when the course has been corrected.

I'm holding out for GSX so for now will just ignore what PMDG is doing w/ this part of ground services.

While you're holding out for GSX, don't hold your breath - and watch this video. Unfortunately it's only the tip-of-the-iceberg when it comes to GSX issues.

If you like to spend your sim-time fiddling, GSX is for you. If you like to spend your time actually flying avoid it like the plague.

I just uninstalled it so I'm not tempted to waste my time with it.

Thanks I hear you--when I said "holding out for GSX" what I was really saying is holding out for GSX when it matures.  Fiddling and alpha/beta testing I have no patience for anymore having done that for decades.

I sat on my hands until the -800 was released and got for free with $30 credit still available.

Not sure to get -600 or wait to see what gets released…

I’ll continue to play the long game!

You know. You really shouldn't keep bashing GSX like you have been. You're using it for free until you get a new machine because Umberto kindly refunded your money. Why keep holding a grudge because you didn't like the SW? You got the ultimate in good customer a service, a full and complete refund along with continued use of the product until your machine catches fire. And you want to keep smearing him / them? That's lame, dude.

I've been having great fun and much success with GSX. I think it is a perfectly fine piece of work and a good addition to my sim. So we have different experiences, which are probably based on different expectations. I was expecting exactly what I got from GSX and it works fine. I don't know exactly what you thought you were buying, but it clearly didn't align with the offering. That's fine, but there is no need to trash a man's or a business' name over mismatched expectations.

You my friend are out of line...I unlinked, uninstalled and removed and deleted the key for GSX before I had any idea I'd be getting a refund (I didn't want to risk temptation to try it again). I unlinked, uninstalled and remove keys for all my FSDT airports, deleted the Addon Manager folder, restarted my computer and reinstalled the airports again - ALL TO MAKE SURE THERE WERE NO REMNANTS FROM GSX. You're out-of-line sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong...and believe it or not, just because you'd keep using it for free doesn't mean the rest of us do that.

I ran a business for 30 years that used 10's of thousands of dollars worth of software that we could've easily used single copies on different machines and gotten away with it - we never did, and I never will infringe on software copyright. We paid for seats for every installed copy, just as I do today.

I'm not trashing him over mismatched expectations...I'm trashing the product for which he insists on telling his customers that if they don't agree with his choices the customer is wrong. It's an interesting way to do business, just not one I agree with. I've chosen to abandon GSX, and Umberto has chosen to refund my $$...but that doesn't mean I can't share my experience in hope that others don't make my mistake.

"That's fine, but there is no need to trash a man's or a business' name over mismatched expectations." Clearly you've never owned a business - it happens all the time, that's why business isn't for the weak

There's an old saying in business - "A problem is the best opportunity to cement a client relationship - if handled properly." Broadcasting to the world that according to you a customer is wrong is not building the vendor-client relationship.

Here genius...try running your GSX when your installer looks like this:

Then how about you go back and edit your post and remove the invalid speculation.
