PMDG 737-800 is NOW available!

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to get ground baggage loading away from the cargo doors so I can....CLOSE the cargo doors?  When the plane initializes the carts are already glued on to the open cargo doors, and I see no way to get them to move so I can close the doors!  Thanks I thought my maiden flight was going to be uncomplicated until this!

Oh,. for now using the default start up mode in the 800.

They have been nothing but milking the maximum possible financial return out of this frame now for several years.

zOMG. A for-profit business trying to make money. Those monsters!

Yes, well its at the expense of the public who maybe don't want to fit into this mold of purchase.

No it isn't. They aren't selling insulin. No one's going to suffer if they don't get a fictional 737 for a low price. This is a pretend airplane we pretend to fly for fun. No one needs a PMDG product. We buy them because we want them, and acting like they're screwing the public by selling a "want" for more than you want to pay is the height of absurdity.

Sarcasm aside, if you read my response properly you will see I acknowledge this is business trying to make a profit (as are all Developers), - it is the business marketing model used by PMDG itself that is the contention of my response. Was that not clear enough to you?

As long as the developed world continues to endorse and insist on capitalism as its economic system of choice, it's absurd to be upset at "business marketing models" designed to generate maximum revenue. Capitalism insists on generating maximum revenue. Nice guys might end up in the poorhouse.

Now, if you want to start getting into how we could modify capitalism such that it doesn't require rampant money grabs all the freakin' time, I'm right there with you, but I suspect the mods might make us stop. 😉

Are there any diference between the 700 and the 800 besides external view, weights and size ?. Are all the systems working exactly the same ?.

If that is the case I will save my money and stay with the 700

Thanks

No, not much difference at all. If you're not very keen on the 800, stick with the 700; the cockpit experience is 99%identical.

All you need to do is turn the battery on and then fuel pumps on, flip the apu switch to start and then watch the gauge shoot up to 8 then back down to 3 stabilize and then turn on the APU GEN switches. Then APU bleed.  Unless you meesed with settings in the FMC options pages.  Even if you have external power applied the APU should still start.

I have done this but it is not working. Next to the low oil pressure it says FAULT. When I have started the APU and is outside and the back of the plane it is spoiling up but then it stops and the FAULT is shining. 😞
What am I missing? How do I reset the options in PMDG?

I’ve been having a blast in the 600 which cost me just over $40CDN (I don’t have the 700)

I thought about picking the 800 up but it’s just over $90 CDN and then my logical self keeps telling me is it really worth it lol

I have got the 600/700 and now 800.

The 600 is my favourite.  It's got a retro vibe to it that I really like.

I don't appreciate their pricing scheme.  If the amount of work it took to make the first version for MSFS was 100, the amount of effort it took to dial in the others was maybe 10 each.   I think if they had charged a higher price for YOUR FIRST purchase, then severely discounted all other models, I'd maybe have picked them all up.  For example $80 for the first one purchased, then $20 for each additional model.  As it is now I'll only by the one model, the 800 which I just bought yesterday.

Ill grab the -800 soon.   Looks good with the -900ER cockpit   Infact all the models do.   Just cant resist.

Are PMDG planning on updating their offline installers so people with word no allowed internet wont suffer too much?

I picked up the -800 along with -GSX Pro and will start a EHAM-ENGM flight.

Anyone knows why the Norwegian Virtual Alrlines dosnt have LN-DYU in there fleet ? I noticed some reg. as well in P3D did not fit well in to their fleet.

Thanks

I bought the PMDG B737-800 (and the -600). On a recent flight from Newark to Las Vegas it worked great in LNAV and VNAV. The flying characteristics were good. PMDG did a great job.

I also experimented with the "Save" function and it worked flawlessly on a saved pre-departure scenario.

And that my friend is the beauty of the Free Market. You pay for what you want if the prices is agreeable to you. If not…NO SALE!

Quick question for you guys.  I never owned the prior MS flightsim so I never purchased any PMDG items.  Does their stuff ever go for sale on some of the larger retail sites (SimMarket, etc)?  Just really don't want to have to open another account for stuff (I have about 4 right now, gets old)
