Queen crashed Flightradar24.

Over half a million views of her last flight KRF01R from Edinburgh to Northolt.

Edit: corrected, FR24 saiys, over 6 million people watched

I saw the C17 pass overhead here in Cheshire. Its flight path took it from POL VOR to waypoint LISTO - a waypoint approx 30 miles south of Manchester. Draw a line between those two and it’s just to the west of me.

At FL240 I was never going to see much but the contrail and timing confirmed it was that flight. Not having a FlightRadar account I was locked out soon after takeoff.

"Not bad"? "Not bad"?

How very dare you!😁

I nearly went with my kilt yesterday but opted for my vintage green tweed 3 piece suit with complimentary tie and flat cap.

Sounds classy. Good ole tweed. Living in the South, I do not don my 35-odd years Harris Tweed jacket very often anymore but it stands guard in my closet.

And I was there. Apologies for the airsickness-inducing start to the video - the wind was blustery (and I didn't have my dedicated microphone), even if the sun was beautifully warming at the time.

Great shots thanks for sharing, and what a send off into a beautiful sunset

A consideration is that they were wanting to reside in Canada as initially that is where they went (also that is where she was living when the met), but that couldn't happen because under Canadian Law, the Royal Family is the head of state from afar, they can never reside in Canada. Therefore in order for Harry to settle in Canada he must give up his title and apply for permanent residence just like any other immigrant.

That rule makes sense it gives Canada sovereignty from its offshore head of state and family etc

Quotes like you said are after the fact, they ended up settling in California because the other option wasn't going to work by law

?

The ‘royal family’ are not head of state anywhere.

The Queen was constitutional head of state of the UK and head of the Commonwealth. She was also constitutional head of state of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a dozen other nations.

This position now passes to King Charles III.

Harry has no constitutional position whatsoever other than now being fifth in line to the throne.

Harry and Meghan moved from Canada for the simple reason that the Canadian government refused to pay for their security arrangements and a ‘friendly’ American billionaire offered them a place to shack up in California.

Arrivals at Heathrow will be suspended from 13:45 to 14:20 "to ensure silence during the ceremonial procession" (GMT) and there will be no departures for an hour and 40 minutes from 15:05 (GMT) while the ceremonial procession approaches Windsor Castle for burial. Meanwhile, departures will be "reduced" from 4.45pm to 9pm during the farewell service at St George's Chapel.

Royals are permitted to visit Canada for up to 6 months but as they were not on an official state visit the Canadian Government had no obligation to provide security, it wasn't that they refused they were not obligated and were acting on the best interest of the tax payer. In no way was it a refusal.

And yes their only option to remain in Canada was to apply for residency like everyone else

It is not an amorphous "they". There is freedom of choice, each individual can choose what they want to do.

There is indeed, however, for those of us who normally enjoy listening to BBC radio and television,
the focus of every news program, every "chat show" and as many old documentaries as can be found
on the same subject was fine, until they decided to go on doing it, non-stop, for ten days and reduce
all other world news to background mentions.

The freedom of choice that you refer to is down to watch and listen or do not watch or listen.

My own view is that I can do without BBC radio and television during what is undoubtedly an event that
history will mark as important but, much as the pandemic made us modify our behaviour, many of us may
find that the change is preferable and stay away.
