All good, as I am an Employer in New Zealand I am waiting to see if we will do a paid day off here, which is likely as we already have been doing a paid day off for her Birthday (Queens Birthday Weekend), so more then likely we will have a one off national day off for this too. September 9, 20223 yr Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe she is the longest reigning British Monarch in history? She is a very special historical figure. I only wish she had corrected the schism in Christendom crated by Henry VIII She had plenty of time to do it and since the Anglican Church is disintegrating except for the orthodox element which are just covering to Catholicism. May she rest in peace and may she be reckoned to have emulated the Archetype of Queens in her earthly life. She reigned 70 years, 7 months, and 2 days. I believe that the shortest reign was that of Lady Jane Grey, which lasted all of 9 days. She was beheaded for "treason" at the ripe old age of 17. Man, the aristocracy were brutal back then! The second shortest reign was that of Ælfweard, which was a mere 16 days, although whether he ever actually reigned is disputed since he died 16 days after his father's death. Sucks to have been him, eh? Edited September 9, 20223 yr by n4gix Added more information Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I saw reported here in the USA tonight, I believe on the BBC broadcast, that she was in world history the longest serving queen monarch. September 9, 20223 yr I was married to a Canadian (out of Toronto) who lived in the U.S for may years, and has since passed. She remembered watching the Queen's Coronation on TV as a kid, and still had a fondness for the Queen over the years. I wonder how Brits feel about Camilla becoming the Queen Consort? Too soon?

September 9, 20223 yr I was deeply saddened to hear this news yesterday. As Ray Proudfoot has mentioned she has been my Queen for all of my 51 years of life and she is regarded by most as a member of everyone's extended family. It was an honour to have served her in the Royal Air Force as commander in chief and I briefly met her when I was very young, although I cannot remember the exact memory details. It has been humbling to read on many forums in this community the reach she had and had touched so many people's lives. 💓 FS PC - AMD7900X3D / MSI RTX 4090 24gb / 32gb Ram / Varjo Aero / Bravo Quadrant / Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog / Yoke / TPR Pedals UK Skytours - http://www.ukskytours.co.uk

So much of our lives will now change. Postage stamps, currency, the National Anthem and even post boxes that show ER that will change to CR. The R stands for Regina - the ‘surname’ of the Monarch. September 9, 20223 yr I manged to get within 4 yards of the queen once. It was her silver jubilee and she toured the country. Drove straight down my narrow road, a multitude of people at the kerb. Myself and many others were recipients of the royal wave.

September 9, 20223 yr The Queen's passing was announced through ACARS to the flying airliners. Here is the message received by an Easyjet aircraft. Such messages are pretty rare as I understand it. No, Camilla will be Queen Consort, not Queen Regnant - the wife of the monarch, not the monarch herself. That happens by default, and isn't an issue.
