Bijan vs Accuseason

Myself I use Bijan too and imho it is good as it is.

When REX has added the custom Bijan features listed below I might switch to REX.

  1. Spring flower blossoms in all cities.
  2. Flower fields in many parts of the world, UK, Africa, Asia, Europe, USA
  3. More vareity of trees and colors in each season.
  4. Gradual transition of trees in different elevations.
  5. Customized trees in upper UK and Scottland areas - Removed/reduced all vegetation from higher elevations.
  6. Photogrammetry trees removal from cities (ongoing project)
  7. Terrain Mask
  8. Snow mask so roads and runways can be cleared of snow in winter.
  9. Multi ecosystem in the same area which is only doable with SDK, resulting in a variety of trees in the same area and creating lush forests, smooth transition.
  10. 60 fall color sets with much more variety of colors instead of 3 preset ones.
  11. Live correction of fall tree colors by using live cam available in several countries.
  12. 3d leafless winter trees in several cities
  13. 3d Joshua trees in Joshua National Park
  14. 3d Pinus Sylvestris trees
  15. 3d Blood Dragon trees
  16. 3d Plumeria trees in Honolulu, Hawaii
  17. 3d Rhododendron trees
  18. 3d baobab trees
  19. 3d bamboo trees
  20. 3d banana trees
  21. Florida Mangrove trees
  22. Black Forest in Germany
  23. Black Forest in Colorado
  24. Custom fall trees in the Rocky Mountains.
  25. Customized fall season in Florida to remove fall colored trees.
  26. Famous Hills in China by Li River
  27. Rocky cliff islands and in China
  28. Manually corrected vegetation in 1000's regions which cannot be fixed by only using biomes.
  29. Cleared trees in 100's of runways.
  30. Accepting changes by user's request.
  31. Adding exclusions to work with 3rd party airports.
  32. Instant support and frequent updates

Actually I like REX trees much more than default MSFS trees, which look OK from ground level, but can be a big eye sore looking down from the sky. The tree canopy is too rounded like mushrooms, or broccolis, just not real trees. It can be worse, as they often gave my goose bumps, thinking about diseased skin. You can see the pictures in this post: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/please-make-trees-look-less-rounded/498857

REX trees have much better shapes and don't look like mushrooms or broccolis. The reason why I like Bijan's trees more is because they have more varieties, just as Gsalden has said above.

I like REX from FSX days. Really wish they can keep up the wonderful work and make it even better.

That's great, but as I noted above, winter (which is just as important a season as any) has REX covering all roads and highways with snow as if they haven't been used after a snow storm. It's very unrealistic. It's horrible. They really need to address that - at least before snow starts falling here.

This would be a nogo for me.

Also wrong trees removal from airports is an important one for me.

I never change anything in Bijans mod. Except for the terrain masks. Seasonal changes are done automatically.

Imho it is good to have these 2 apps and both have a positive effect on the outside world.

The fact this isn't even an official support channel and the time and effort you put in to explain and provide support for your products is professionalism not seen often. You don't defend it, you never come across offended, angry, or passive aggressive. You just do your job and explain the product, and at times where the product is going.

Whatever you're making isn't enough. Developers like yourself don't come often. You're doing it right and the entire REX family should be proud of the work you put in, and the way you conduct yourself on a platform by all intentions you have no obligation to provide any support, answers, or updates. Good on you.

Hi styckx and Hatch. Thanks so much for the nice comments. It is good to know that our efforts are appreciated.

REX Simulations

I have accuseason, and I love it. It's easy. Automated. And looks great. Im sure the option is great, too. But, I've been loyal to REX since FSX days and they've always delivered. The only product of theirs that I'm not a fan of is the tire marks on runway mod. It doesn't look very realistic and when you're at altitude, there's straight cut off points at the beginning and endings of the markings, which don't look all that great. Other than that, REX has always done wonders for my sim.

I had Bijan until a couple of months ago but switched to Accuseason and never looked back. Why did I switch? It had nothing to do with one-click or automation stuff like that, it's really easy to change this with Bijan too. But Bijan custom tree models and manual placement method made some places look very wrong and unrealistic. Other places looked great, but also a bit over the top. What really convinced me of Accuseason was (apart from the fact Bijan abandoned his project for months) 1) the much more subtle weekly color changes of trees (much more than the 6 seasons presets available with Bijan), 2) the much more convincing leafless winter trees and 3) the MUCH more convincing irregular shaped trees. Bijans trees still look like mushrooms.
I have to add that I fly airliners exclusively, so for me it's less about manually placed cherry trees or flower fields in some exotic natural wonder places I fly over with the C152 but more about having a worldwide realistic look in every season from an airliners cockpit. Accuseason delivers exactly that.
And just to show my unbiasedness: I disliked Rex before buying Accuseason, mostly because of their bad and neglected P3D stuff and because of Weather Force, even though I never bought any of those products. So as for Accuseasons, it's worth every penny for airliner pilots.

EDIT: And I want to add what others already said - the way they communicate here is excellent. It reminds me a lot of how Aamir from Fenix handles the community.

After quite a bit of hesitation, I took the plunge after a lot of positive comments here.
It's early days, yet what I've seen so far is very positive and far better than my previous experiences of REX products. This one works as described and most importantly for a REX product, it performs brilliantly.

If they can bring the promised features of customised areas (e.g. Black Forest), terrain colouring and even more trees removed from airfields to their product, plus fix the snow on roads issue described earlier on this page—all without impacting performance—I will be extremely happy.

And count me as another fan of the level of developer communication here, as opposed to solely on Discord. It's great to see.

Yours has been my sentiment w/ REX so I am considering Accuseasons now having had a bad experience, I believe, w/ Bijan's most recent seasons in SU10--didn't figure out this was the source of a major perf hit.   I might do it, but if I could find which Bijan's version is okay w/ SU10 I'll do that a little longer in the hopes Asobo adds seasonality.

Here I do not see any performance hit using Bijan’s 4 seasons in 4K with everything maxed out….

Interesting, which version?  I never had issues but serious issues in SU10 and someone here mentioned they had the same with I think the most recent version.  Thanks GS

This Bijan dude is awol, so what is the point? He may or may not resume the project. Who knows?

REX is reliable. Always there. Always refining and updating the project.

REX Accuseason is meant to be a global replacement.

Sure, if you're looking for every decidous tulip that grows out of your cat's word not allowed to be modeled, you'll be disappointed.

What REX Accuseason does for me is to replace the slimish no season green of MSFS default with something that looks much more realistic.
