Something is completely off with the processing.  All the photogrammetry is constantly unmelting in front of my eyes. It's like the game suddenly can't process it fast enough.

Im waiting to see if others experience what I am. I hate being the first to report anything because I'm not exactly doing proper testing.

Can you try taking the drone camera and seeing if it will let you "fly" underground? I think there's a weird elevation issue going on.

It doesn't do it in DX11 at Flightbeam's KDEN, but it did do it in DX12 at Flytampa's KLAS (gate B30 if that matters).

The thermal visualization (in the weather menu!) is very good. Thermals are working, I was perfectly able to do some soaring around EDAR (with some added wind and temp). Very nice!

Great set of updates! And all the goodies such as helicopters, gliders, iniBuilds A310, etc are yet to come on Nov 11th. Hope they have enough time to squash out whatever serious bugs that are uncovered during beta (if they have to stick to Nov 11th release despite showstoppers sounds like they'll release subsequent hotfixes/updates rather than waiting till SU12).

For me the atmospherics, CFD, aerodynamics, ground effect, and weather related improvements are especially welcome, the AI/traffic ones too. Trying to gather up all the info they've provided around the new CFD driven atmospherics & thermals improvements, and related aerodynamics improvements (still not explicitly stated anywhere I can find if the full 20km-cocoon-around-aircraft CFD driven airflow simulation is in this beta? sounds like it is)... hopefully they'll deep dive more on these topics in an upcoming feature discovery video.

  • Improved atmospheric simulation with a big focus on Thermals and general tweaks for the CFD
  • We added a new CFD airflow display visualization in game for aircraft that are CFD-enabled (accessible under assistances and can be mapped to a button/key)
  • 3D thermals visualization can be toggled via the weather panel
  • Smoothed ground normal and ground position in CFD simulation to make ground effect smoother
  • Thermals simulation now simulates ground slope orientation. Sun exposed slopes receive more heat
  • Ground effect in CFD simulation now accounts for objects, helipads, rooftops…
  • CFD simulation now support sloped ground surfaces adjusting ground effect automatically to the sloped surface
  • Improved ground heat based thermals for a better balance of up and downdrafts

happened to me in real life once albeit not 50 minutes.. everybody was onboard before schedule, so we left early, none of us passengers complained. "hey Captain, wait, we are being watched on FSLTL!"

Just installed SU11 beta. 1st flight was EGKA (Orbx) to EGTE in the Black Square King Air, running Rex Accuseason and FSLTL. Specs i7, 11700k 32Gb, GTX 1080ti, @2k in DX12. NVMe 2Tb drive. DX12 in this scenario only used 6.3VRAM. Running nVidia driver 522.25.

Very impressed so far, butter smooth and good VRAM management. Flight dynamics in the KA very good indeed now, and wind not excessive on finals any more. I will not be able to get enough of this....

Oof. I just watched a live traffic plane cruise through Manhattan at like 200ft and flying through skyscrapers. They need to fix that. That triggered some past memories.

I've yet to try the thermals and CFD airflow visualisations. Anyone got a chance to try? Also, do we know which aircraft are "CFD-enabled"?

I'm not seeing an option for FSR. Am I locked out because I have a Nvidia card or am I not looking in the right place?

Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

You have to be running DX12, then you can find it as a new option in the anti-aliasing setting.

On my system it was both cause of carenado, ms and brsimdesign. didnt try long flights yet, but no more crashes during launch.

P.S.

FSR2 is great! Pity they still didn't solve the vertical lines in clouds... so  stuck to dx11, and want to wait for new 7 series before changing GPU.

I had quite a few freezes upon flight loading so far, where I had to kill the sim with task manager. I think I've resolved that by removing some addons. Trying to check which addons work and which don't. So far I've disabled all freeware scenery and modded aircraft. Henrik Nielsen's global ship traffic is working though. FSLTL is working (sort of) with some simconnect limitations that have appeared with SU11.

Thanks. I've just started a flight with DX12 but didn't check for it. I aborted the flight because the PMDG 737 instruments were starting to become corrupted.
