October 23, 20223 yr The Q8Pilot stream as been completely useless until now as an xEnviro review. So I changed to the Virtavia stream (russian stream) and that is showing comparisons in various airports between xEnviro and MSFS Live Weather (and I don't understand russian but there is no need to). From what I've seen, MSLS Live Weather is MUCH better than xEnviro. Last airport he showed had visibility 9999 and broken clouds on METAR, which was spot on with MSFS weather and with xENviro was visibility around 1/2 mile with overcast. Completely wrong. And lots of other airports he has been showing the same thing happens. On top of that, the cloud transitions are awful, just like a slideshow as someone said before. Looks like the xEnviro guys have a LONG way to go to even be able to be compared with MSFS live weather. For now, it is completely word not allowed. October 23, 20223 yr Lol, Q8 is completely biased. He is not sure which one is more accurate when xEnviro shows visibility ZERO when it should be 19km and MSFS is almost spot on? LOL. 🤪 Alvega CPU: AMD 7800X3D | COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB | GPU: RTX 4070 TI Super 16GB OC | Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI |RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MHz PC5-48000 2x16GB CL36 | SSDs: WD Black SN770 2TB NVMe SSD (WIN11), WD Black SN850X SSD 2 TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe (MSFS), Crucial MX500 2TB (Other stuff) | CASE: Forgeon Arcanite ARGB Mesh Tower ATX White | Power Supply: Forgeon Bolt PSU 850W 80+ Gold Full Modular White
October 23, 20223 yr Looking at the screenshots on the product page, meh, I’ll stay with MSFS live wx. Eric
October 23, 20223 yr Lol, and another airport (Calgary) that has visibility almost zero with xEnviro when it should be 7 miles (it's spot on in MSFS). Case closed for me. He he keeps saying he thinks xEnviro looks a lot better. This guy is nuts. He didn't use to be as biased as this, this looks like a paid review to me. Yes, I was disappointed as well, Q8 used to be a decent source of info. This was way too blatantly obvious, and he's no longer on my list of trusted reviewers. Thankfully MSFS has brought in tons of new reviewers so there's no lack of good reviews out there.

What's worse, Magnus has always drama when it comes for updates. Until today, he can't get xE to work probably on XP11, let alone MSFS. October 23, 20223 yr Well, I bought it because I remembered my wife hates Applebee's. Anyways, to save time and energy typing every little detail and having you read it, I'll save you the time. TL;DR: It's the exact same thing as REX WeatherForce. Personally, if I'm going to do local flying in the US or Europe, (by local I mean staying within a 100nm radius of my departure airport) this tool is actually pretty cool. I do like how the depictions look, but it needs a working METAR to give some semblance of realistic/expected looking weather. I like chasing storms and there's a Convective SIGMET near Kansas City that I decided to check out. To be honest, the actual weather depiction was "meh" when comparing it to what it'd look like in real life. But, I personally liked how it drew the weather, even if it wasn't realistic. If anything, this tool has really made me appreciate MSFS default weather and how it interpolates weather from different areas of the world. For example, I'm sitting on the ground in Mitu, Colombia...There's now METAR here. Both xEnviro and MSFS are drawing similar looking cloud coverage, and both are lacking rain (it should be raining). However, MSFS has an accurate altimeter setting, which I found to be very very cool. The xEnviro altimeter was off by about 400'. Either way, don't expect miracles. I think this tool will have its uses, but to be honest, it's just another REX WeatherForce. AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT

October 23, 20223 yr Meh. Hard pass. The main developer has some not-so-pleasant customer service skills, is outright rude to some people and their product for XP was pretty much a disaster. Bugs, issues, not delivering a promised product etc. They've been on my "Do Not Buy" list for several years. After watching a few minutes of Q8 pilot talk this up like it was gold also turned me away. I will gladly stick to MSFS default weather even though it has some accuracy issues but at least everything doesn't "reset" like the usual 3rd party programs do. I remember when I thought how FSGRW and Ultra Weather looked in XP. Better than default but no where near how good MSFS looks.
