According to their facebook post it seems like xplane is still their main priority and they are using this to generate revenue in order to continue funding their never-ending xplane project.  I spend $70 on this program years ago for xp11 and waited patiently for vr support, it never came.  Ill be waiting for reviews on this one.

As far as I understand  version 1.17 of xenviro supports vr. I gave up on thus addon years ago because I was not interested anymore. So many other solutions/sims with pretty decent vr possibilities.

They've made other statements that the XP12 SDK might dash those dreams (but still in negotiation with LR). Specifically in terms of drawing the weather. Historical weather could turn out to be their only major selling point moving forward in XP12. Now that Asobo has opened the weather system up some, it's a natural transition for the company to survive.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

Sorry but I will not be supporting this project. Was a huge waste of money in X-Plane for me. I feel the same pattern will repeat in MSFS with xenviro. Having invested so much money into weather addons for FSX, P3D, and X-Plane has made me more cautious on what to spend my money on. The only weather addon that was really worth it to me was Active-X. I have faith in Asobo/MS that they will continually make weather one of the priorities and that it will work and look very well. Just have to give them time.

42 USD?  A little on the high side in MSFS-land.  Could be worth it if it does what it says.  I'd have to see if the weather transitions are smooth as you fly.  I wonder how they do visibility with no real value in MSFS?  Also their comparison pics aren't great - it's hard to tell what is actually happening.

Jeeze! 4 pages of....nothing?! Everyone is crying over how xEnviro didn't work in X-Plane. I had it in X-Plane, and thought it was neat at the time...but that was YEARS ago. They're dabbling in a new sim. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt until there's a real reason to flame them? It's only been out for a few hours, has anyone gotten it? Can some brave soul willing to spend $24 be willing to share their thoughts? I'm brave, but for $24 I could take my wife out to a luxurious dinner at......Applebee's.

I think most of us are specifically interested in:
1) Weather transitions
2) Weather differences on the horizon (i.e. realistic depiction of different weather stations)
3) Upper atmosphere weather
4) Hazardous weather depiction and simulation
5) Performance

I'm not spending $24 on this after seeing people saying that the clouds change like a slideshow. Guess I'll wait for Q8Pilot's review.

Agreed, despite what I said about the product a few posts above, if it can deliver a better experience than msfs weather in these cases I'd be a buyer.

Ding ding ding! Here’s the answer! And just like that that I am marked safe from another third party developer getting my money for something the sim does better on it’s own.

I can’t help but notice that they didn’t clearly specify this on the website. Almost like they were trying to make me believe that it was “revolutionary technology.”

Why to spend 24$ and the default weather engine is very good? I always find these kind of applications are money grab (unless you want historical weather?, different story)

It would be 42 for me....  I think I could feed my entire family at McDonald's haha.  Anyway I'm tired of falling on the sword for regrettable purchases.  Someone else can try this time.

In XP this product had mixed reviews.  Their clouds looked amazing.  But it's basically the default "look" in MSFS.  I'm unaware of how their weather engine was in XP11.

Magnus (the main developer) is crazy asking for this price, I ain't going to pay again for this garbage. I bought it back in XP11 days and I regret it big times, it was buggy and an FPS monster and still he couldn't fix it until today.

Asobo/MS have not opened the weather API for third parties and have no intentions in doing so.

That means all weather add-ons can only inject weather scenarios, meaning the weather you see is 'global' and at some point the scenario has to change and that means they have to implement some kind of transition.

It is bad in Rex WF and I can not see it being better in XEnviro, because they don't really have access to the weather system.
