yes you are right. when i first tested it seemed to work fine but now it's re centering. I've tried shift+r to turn off the governor and mapped disengage but doesn't fix it.

"set Heli throttle axis" is what I'm bound to at the moment (not 1 or 2 etc)

Thanks, so it’s just pedals, cyclic, and collective in this one.  Nice feature.

I will test it tonight, though people are commenting positive the feedback.

"Hi. This mod improves the Bell 407 behaviour in relation to a couple of things that bugged me with the original one. 1. Torque. You can overtorque now. Before, full collective would render you uhmm 85% torque. Which is...https://flightsim.to/file/43693/bell-407-improvement-mod"

If you have a long Joystick, mine is a HOTAS with 12" extension, and really sensitive Anti Torque Pedals, and a collective “arm”. Set up correctly. Turn off both rotor assists. Use governor “on” for throttle.
Then the 407 and Cabri are a joy to fly.
But only if you know how to fly a heli.
The long joystick and long travel collective make it much easier to be subtle with your inputs. I have over a 12" of travel on cyclic, and I rarely move it more than a quarter inch in any direction while hovering. Also it is super important to have very smooth (expensive) anti torque pedals.
Can it be enjoyed with cheaper equipment, yes but it is much harder.
I don’t have a rotor rating but I have flown a few hrs in a Bell 47, a real handful.
And I have flown a lot of rotor craft in other sims.
It is not easy, most new pilots left to their own devises will be out of control in less than 5 seconds.
Learning to fly with an instructor, you are given a lot of help. Usually the instructor will handle 2 of the inputs and let you practice the others one at a time, then 2 at a time and finally after a few hrs maybe all 3, this is if you use a governor, w/o governor you have to balance 4 inputs perfectly and keep RPMs in the green manually, this is very hard.
But the MSFS comes with assist settings to make it possible to get a few flights in easily. That is fun, but you don’t learn much that way unless you really start to practice w/o assists.
Sim on this is great…

The new KCGX Meigs Field is also turning out to be an online playground and there are always several Bell 407's flying around under various levels of control while other pilots are doing touch n' goes with all the new planes (and one person I saw attempting same in the Darkstar).   It's been very entertaining to hover just off the side of the runway and watch the show.

Not that I would ever condone such hoolaganism, but I have it on good authority that the tops of the Willis (aka Sears) Tower as well as the John Hancock Building are solid and landable.  😁

Wau, reverted uninstalled, in stationary it climbs at 4000fpm haha

Just in case some Warthog user is having trouble with control settings, here is how I finally have mine set up.

Primary Controls ->
Set Cyclic Longitudinal Axis (joystick back and forwards) reverse checked
Set Cyclic Lateral Axis (joystick side to side) reverse checked

Collective Axis (same as fixed wing throttle) reverse checked.

I still haven't figured out the pitch trim yet. I had no idea ASOBO had defined helicopter settings, until today and I almost missed it, it was just mentioned in passing, in a post. I was using the normal plane setup. I'm pretty sure going with the "helicopter" settings seem better, maybe placebo.

I remember seeing someone post that their Guimbal (or whatever) wouldn't lift off, one needs to flip on the "clutch" under the red cover.

I am trying to use a Ch Pro Pedals and have no idea how old they are. Does anybody have experience of these and if more commonly available (average price) ones give better results?

I think it is something like rotor longitudinal trim

Sergio from helisimmer.com below on ensuring some settings for most realistic experience.Think it's obvious to most here, but still good to ensure that all assistances are turned off.. also a potential bug that sometime might force MSFS to use the legacy flight model (which can be fixed by changing/cycling settings to use the modern flight model). He also speaks about the Bell 407 having some issues that need fixing, and as stated previously the G2 looks the better bird of the two in utilizing all the new heli physics.

Yes, finally discovered the "increase" and "decrease" rotor "longitudinal" and "lateral" buttons. You will also need a 5th button - "Reset Trim".

I originally tried the "set" buttons instead of the "increase" and "decrease. That did nothing

For me both Helis start to spin and bank uncontrollably the moment I lift it off the ground. All controls seem to work fine - collective, pedals, cyclic. But still it goes crazy when taking off.

I had the same problem.  I don't know if it's been answered here or not, but the way I fixed mine was go to the Controls Menu, under Tail Rotor Axis.  Mine had two entries  One to increase and one to decrease.  The problem was once you twisted the tail rotor on the joystick it stayed on until you changed it. So it went round and round.

What I did was clear out both of these entries and went to Tail Rotor Axis and scanned that and validated it.  I was able to make a perfect liftoff without any spinning.
