Comms? I thought it was the Nav Radios.

Yes, I misspoke. But it’s fixed now anyway

I didn't realise you could leave it in FMS that long... Does it slow with flap deployment?

G

It does, down to 140 kts. --> apparently there is an update to the real unit that enables the at to slow to vref.

See here:

"New and improved Autothrottle functionality • The autothrottle can be used for takeoff and landing. • For takeoff, the throttle must be advanced to the TO position manually. • For landing, the target speed may be set to any speed down to VREF."

Well, so far so good for me. Since the Longitude is one of my favorites, I decided to give the beta a go. Only ran into  a few issues which, I expect was user error and can be resolved with some reading.

When the a/c started the VNAV descent It was at 320kts - FMS never adjusted the speed as it went through 10,000ft, I had to manually control speed even though AT was active. The other issue - on the 3000 after setting up the VNAV profile I could display along the bottom of the map on the MFD the entire VNAV profile - time to TOD, waypoints and alts etc. I can find no way to display this in the 5000 but I know it's there.

Actually quite pleased with what I've seen so far.

Are flightplans from the map page being imported into the g3000 now?

No, not yet. That bug has been logged but it wasn't fixed in this update.

Is there a manual for using the new Garmin?  I can't find one and I'm really struggling getting VNAV to work (everything is setup correctly, but I'm not getting any TOD/VS REQ/V DEV info, and, therefore, the plane is not descending).  Thanks!

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest any real life Garmin manual online would be close, I asked similar months ago about the G1000 and was told exactly that and since then that has become an almost complete replica of the real life counterpart (G3000 has some way to go yet of course).

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I need to retire!  Shame I am about 10 or 12 years away from that unfortunately, as I could spend all day on MSFS just lately.

Hi Bobcat. As a retired person, I can absolutely tell you that nothing else gets done once you retire and become a full time 'Virtual' pilot. LOL

Regards...Kenny.

p.s. The first line is a quote from an earlier reply by Bobcat. I just don't know how to get the quotes thingy to work here.

There is a new cockpit texture mod available for the Longitude on flightsim.to

Longitude Cockpit Texture Mod

I like it a lot. The only issue is that the pulse and recognition lights bleed into the cockpit.

The texture mod has no impact on framerates.

Does this mod improve the tiny (hard to read) white labelling for the switches in the Longitude?  .. or is it just for the cockpit panels etc?

I actually think it has made it better as the white text is not as blurry as it was....

The Longitude is pretty great now. Awesome update!

Working Title made my life better, and not just this once. Look, I said it! 😄

I am going crazy trying to put this into my MSFS 2020 Longitude. How and where are you getting this MOD from? Thanks Walt

You need to be in the Beta program.  Easy to join, and no major issues with the latest beta.

Be aware that you may have to receive other betas though, so if you want a 100% stable sim (if there is such a thing) then don't join.

If you don't want to join the beta, the full official release will be sometime in January.

PS.  It is not really a mod, it is an official upgrade by WT / Asobo - a really significant upgrade, to the CJ4 and TBM as well.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Thanks Bob. Just out of curiosity, How do the join the BETA. May try it and thank you
