Here I am still using it and it looks great as it always did. Using the season mask too.

It has been updated 20+ times over the last 2 years and it still works.

 

 

To put all this in context ... when people call this "abandonware": It's only real competitior is REX's Accuseason, which hasn't been updated for absolutely *ages* either - and doesn't support terrain masking, whch Bijan does (albeit to a limited extent). Terrain masking has been promised for Accuseason for a fair while now, but still no news even of a timeline.

As Gerard says - Bijan continues to work well with MSFS - SU10 or SU11. I have no complaints though (of coorse) I'd welcome any future development.

I too moved on to Accuseason. Theyre pretty responsive and all in discord, but despite the talk, terrain masking has still not been implemented. Will keep an eye on Bijans to see where it goes from here. Having both means we can always go back and forth.

Same with me. I find Accuseason to be less accurate than Bijan's Seasons in terms of type of tree depicted.

I live in Ticino, Switzerland (where Lugano is located) and virtually all forests on this side of the Alps are made up exclusively of broadleaf deciduous trees. Yet accuseason depicts only pine trees across the entire region extending into Piedmonte and Lombardy in Northern Italy. It completely breaks the immersion as the region is heavily forested. It would nice if @rstough this could be fixed as it is totally wrong.

In fall and winter I use Terrain Masks for Western European flights. Changed the Opacity to 20%.

After quite some time without having installed Bijan Season I reinstalled V7.2a again and manually put corresponding files into the community-folder.

Unfortunately there is no influence to my current MSFS, always the same landscape. Even if I change the different season-files. MSFS always shows the same vegetation.

Is the program no more working in current MSFS-version?

Bijan's seasons continues to work just fine. Remember that the season folders are nested in the main folder and you must put the individual season you want to use in your community folder, and not the main folder that contains all of the individual different seasons.

There has to be a mistake in what you're doing, somewhere. There is no bona-fide reason for it not working. Hope you did, or do find the problem.

Yes, I manually copied the individual season-file from the main folder to the community-folder, e.g. Bijan Seasons - Spring N - Fall S plus Bijan - Model Assets without success. Even after removing all other files resp. folders from the community-folder leaving only Bijan-Seasons-folders same result.

Basically MSFS always shows the same vegetation with or without installing Bijan Seasons.

Is there anything to configure in the MSFS-Option-Settings when using Bijan Seasons?

Does Bijan Season only work within certain areas of the globe?

With latest version of MSFS, do folks still think Bijan is the best or Rex Accuseason is the best? Least buggy? Most accurate?

How long has Asobo been working on seasons?  Really wonder what their solution is.

I've been using the same version of Bijan's since last year, through all sim updates, with no problems.  I can still change seasons as I wish, and I find the vegetation extremely accurate everywhere in the world I've been.  When I fly GA with friends in the sim, we often compare Rex (which some of them have) with Bijan's and have typically preferred the Bijan's.  That's subjective of course, but I've certainly never seen a reason to change!
