still waiting for anti aliasing fix

6 pages of pointless arguing.
AA doesn’t work properly. There is nothing more to it for the average end user, we just want it to be better.

we all want it to be better. not least LR.

but it doesnt get better magically, it most definately doesnt get better when no one can specify exactly what is wrong or what "better" looks like.

not drawing things in the distance because they artifact really is not better in my humble opinion, neither would be an option for 64x AA.

It’s definitely. I couldn’t care less about all the technical jargon, I would just like it working like it does in other games.

whatever it is, lack of priorities, manpower, know-how? it is simply not state of the art in 2023.

competition means the freedom to choose.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

well, if you are setting the bar that low, just set render distance to its minimum setting, AA to its max setting, download some ortho, and it will "work" exactly like in other games.

Plenty games with graphically intense graphics and large render distances manage perfectly fine with good working AA 💁‍♂️

And I’m not sure why other games would need ortho? Who said anything about them being flightsims? Showing your agenda with that comment.

hdmi cant handle 4K60fps very well.

It handles 4K@120fps fine on my end. XP's AA is evidently lacking when compared to other sims and games that I use, but I am perfectly fine with waiting until a good fix is found.

Anti aliasing is broken. Period. Whoever believes otherwise needs a neurosurgeon.

But but

Everyone is dreaming this up there is no issue

You can't see AA at 4K anyway it has no impact

Your pixels are too small for AA

You are looking at your screen through a magnifying glass

AA will only fix images that look just like "this one"

LR will never implement 64X AA

HDMI can't do 4K/60FPS

And for the final argument:

A video of the TV show House!!!

I mean it doesn't get much more convincing than that....  This is really what someone has been arguing for 7 pages now... #facepalm

Hi Goran,

Do you know (or can tell) if in 12.04b round AA will be improved? Besides fixes for real weather. Sorry if this subject touches any NDA.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I can't find anything in Slack regarding a fix yet.  I've found a few discussions about it, but nothing more than that.  I doubt it will be an easy fix, but we'll just wait and see what happens.

There have been countless pages of what is wrong, yet to still seem to contradict everyone.

Well there is a further update 12.0b4 I think, no anti- aliasing issues that I can see here now. Maybe its fixed or been tidied up.

Anyway 3 pics no antialiasing issues here that I can discern,
