February 14, 20233 yr Author This morning I took Betty's ashes to the wildlife refuge and scattered them them in different places. Before the pandemic I used to go out there and work as many as 4 days a week. Betty came with me sometimes and we always showed up for the bi-weekly bird counts. This was the last time we drove out there together. She loved the refuge and the animals and birds out there. It's supposed to rain tonight. If it does she will soak into the earth and be a permanent part of what she loved so much. A couple of times I teared up and almost choked up as I threw a fist full of her ashes in one of her favorite places. It's final now. Dust to dust and dirt to dirt. And I made the lonely drive home without her. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Your description of bringing her back to the earth in a place where she would be so very happy convinces me that there is indeed life after death. Her spirit is so happy, I'm sure, and you can rest assured that your love for each other is eternal. Thank you so much for sharing this very private moment. Stan
